You will develop the strategic communication as well as manage the day to day external communications. You will work cross-functionally together with the SWP Programme team. The ideal candidate is energized by the opportunity to build communications across multiple cultures and audiences.
As our new colleague, we believe that you are enthusiastic about working in a team setting, managing multiple tasks with a high level of diligence and is comfortable working towards deadlines and results. Working in an international setting, you have excellent interpersonal skills with an interest in development and labour market issues. We believe you are a good listener with a creative mindset. You are based in Stockholm but required to travel to programme countries regularly.

About SWP
Since 2004, IF Metall and the International Council of Swedish Industry (NIR) have implemented workplace programmes in Eastern and Southern Africa, funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, SIDA. Starting in 2020 this is replaced by the global Swedish Workplace Programme (SWP). SWP focuses on promoting decent work and sustainable business by stimulating partnerships between management and employees around diversity, inclusion, health and safety, skills etc in the workplace.
The global programme management team is based in Stockholm. Local workplace programmes are managed by regional coordinators resident in South Africa, Kenya, Colombia and Vietnam. The SWP is implemented over the course of five years (2019-2023) and is funded by SIDA.

Main Responsibilities as our Communications Manager
Be part of the conceptualisation, development and implementation of the Knowledge and Communications component of the SWP programme together with the SWP team.
Execute communication related activities such as: manage website and develop content, manage social media accounts, writing reports, and conducting stakeholder interviews, surveys and infographics that present the results and impact of SWP.
Develop and ensure brand editorial guidelines.
Manage communication projects by commissioning or liaising with external consultants or service providers.
Experience, Competencies and Skills
Required:
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience and a degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or similar.
Copy editing and proofreading experience in English, including correcting and reviewing written materials for accuracy, readability, and fit for purpose.
Proven experience using content management systems (particularly WordPress)
Demonstrated experience using Adobe Creative Cloud products (e.g., Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office suite.
Fluent in English and Swedish, written and oral communication skills and an ability to articulate complex subject matter in a straightforward and concise manner for multiple audiences.
Desirable:
Previous experience working in international business, sustainability, business and human rights, labour market issues and international development.
Experience of monitoring, visualization, and collection of results and KPI's.
Experience in conceptualisation.
Language skills in addition to English, especially Spanish and French.
