The role
SEI is recruiting a highly motivated Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer with a strong background in agronomy, food security, nutrition or agriculture within development cooperation. The successful candidate will be based at SEI in Stockholm and will work as part of the SIANI Secretariat, providing support relating to the activities in the network and those of our partners. They will coordinate and collect data to measure impact of a variety of activities within SIANI. This task is envisioned to comprise approximately 60% of the role with the remaining 40% focused on the Secretariat's coordination and communication tasks.

Main responsibilities
MEL (60%)
Engage in regular communication with all current SIANI expert groups, follow their progress according to reports and interactions and flag to the secretariat where opportunities arise for increasing their impact. Ensure any impacts from the groups are properly recorded and quantified for internal reporting;
Work with event organizers (internal/external) to ensure all events are prepared in an analytical manner and define an output. Ensure that events are evaluated and that these data are recorded for internal reporting and evaluation use;
Collect and publish impact stories as directed;
Review social media engagement and web analytics in collaboration with colleagues to draw out data relating to uptake with specific content and audience groups;
Collaboration on secretariat-wide tasks such as report preparation;
Contribute to the development of SIANI's programme document, annual workplan and annual reporting as requested.

Communications (40%)
Contribute to SIANI website and social media engagement;
Be responsible for documentation from SIANI key meetings;
Contribute to the development of the SIANI communications policy.

Who you are
We are looking for a motivated person with a Master's degree in a subject relevant to SIANI - such as agronomy, food security, nutrition, agriculture or rural development within development cooperation. You have experience of working with monitoring, evaluation, learning and reporting in a network context.

You are driven and possess good communication and writing skills, including the ability to make public presentations and communicate within multi-cultural settings. To succeed in this role, you can work both in teams and independently in a highly flexible and exciting research environment. You are able to combine theoretical knowledge with practical, people-based skills. You are fluent in written and spoken English and Swedish.

Required qualifications and experience
Master's degree in a subject relevant to SIANI work such as; agronomy, food security, nutrition, agriculture or rural development within development cooperation;
Minimum of one year of experience working with results-based reporting and MEL in a network context;
At least two years of experience within a professional knowledge or communications environment with a minimum of one year of experience with content management for web and social media on multiple platforms;
Project management skills with the capacity to coordinate tasks and events;
Fluency in written and spoken English and Swedish.
Desirable skills and experience
Professional experience with desktop publishing software and/or Adobe Creative Suite and experience with basic web design
Editorial skills in English/Swedish
Experience from living, working or studying in a low-income country
Experience of work within the development cooperation sector and/or an international organization

The Swedish International Agriculture Network Initiative (SIANI) is a member-based communications platform financed by Sida. SIANI's overall vision is aligned with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal #2: "End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture". SIANI's mission is to: "Promote a multi-sector dialogue, with participation from academia, the private sector, Swedish authorities and civil society surrounding SDG #2.

SIANI is currently in its third funded phase (2016 -2021). The role of the platform is to promote knowledge from within the Swedish Resource Base (SRB) and to enhance knowledge development by bringing in new knowledge from outside of the SRB. SIANI is hosted by Stockholm Environment Institute.
