ABB's Robotics and Discrete Automation business is writing the future of flexible factory and smart machines by providing value-added solutions in robotics, machine and factory automation. Now we are looking for a Mechanics R&D Project Manager to our team in Västerås.
We offer you the chance to be a part of a global environment, developing the next generation modularized world class robot platform with a plan to launch several configurations annually in the coming years. Since many projects are ongoing at the same time, and in different stages, the work could vary between strategic and quick decisions during one single day. This is a great opportunity to work in close collaboration with one of our most experienced project managers and develop your skills within project management.
Your responsibilities
• Being part of a project management team within mechanical development.
• Managing sub-projects and delivering results that meet the project's targets in quality, performance, cost and time.
• Assuring clear and transparent communication with stakeholders.
• Managing a cross-functional team dealing with supply, quality, production, service, market & sales, as well as the mechanical designers and robot experts in R&D.
• After getting familiar with the processes, you will take full responsibility for one or more configuration projects.
• Living ABB's core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.
Your background
• You have a Master's degree within a related field, e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or similar.
• Work experience within product development, project management or Robotics products and organization are qualifying, but no requirement.
• Fluency in written and spoken English is a requirement, Swedish is considered an advantage.
• A strong drive and motivation to learn and develop new skills.
• Used to work in a structured way and make quick decisions.
• Communicative, flexible and able to handle many stakeholders.
