Main responsibilities
Alfa Laval is looking for a new employee focusing on metallurgical process science and manufacturing technology in order to develop their global world-class Heat Exchanger production. In this role you will be an important member of a central development team with global responsibility. Your task will be process development in close cooperation with product development and manufacturing units, challenging existin concepts within manufacturing. Main duties will include:
• Innovate, develop, verify and implement new technologies/processes/systems within the specialist area.
• Challenge existing technologies/processes/systems
• Develop and implement tools and methods within the specialist area
• Initiate, run and participate in networks within Alfa Laval to develop the specialist area.
• Participating in networks/projects outside of Alfa Laval to strengthen AL's capability within the specialist area.
The position is based in Lund and may involve travelling up to 30 days per year.
Qualifications
You have a M.Sc. in Mechanical engineering or similar (process metallurgy or materials science) with several years of industrial experience. Good knowledge of materials science or metallurgical process science and manufacturing technology is a prerequisite for the service. Good knowledge about stainless steel materials is meritorious as well as brazing, welding or heat treatment competence and metallic material engineering. As a person, you are curious, enthusiastic and a committed problem solver with a great technical interest and open minded to new technology. You have a strategic perspective in combination with good practical skills. You are a team player experienced working in projects and motivated by both finding solutions and executing projects, with a good diplomatic sense.
