We at Data Platform work on a vision to empower our product-oriented teams with a complete self-service analytics platform and make data-driven decisions possible in Truecaller, guaranteeing the stability, velocity, and delivery of the mainstream event pipeline.
As a Manager - Data Platform your main objective will be to empower the Business units to make data-driven business and feature decisions based on correct and timely delivered data. You will manage a team of highly skilled engineers who owns the ingestion pipeline as well as all the DWH tooling needed to provide analytics as a service to the Business units. As Manager Data platform you will interact with all relevant stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements in order to set and execute a strategic product roadmap. You will report to the Director of Engineering, Platform Infrastructure, with whom you will make sure that the team's strategy is aligned with the company's overall vision.
What we expect from you:
Working experience with Product Development Management in environments with complex dependencies.
Experience in building big data capabilities and supporting users from different backgrounds.
Ability to see the big picture but also get dig into details if needed.
Fast learning ability is crucial to be able to perform well in a team that is motivated by innovation and pushing boundaries
Understanding the technical challenges of building large-scale big data systems and being comfortable in facilitating technical discussions and decisions within and outside the team
Data-driven, able to identify what data needs to be collected, what metrics need to be tracked, and how patterns can be discovered
Knowledgeable and experienced with Agile frameworks and Agile practices, rules, roles, and artifacts
High interest and ability to work with people as a coaching manager.
Excellent verbal and written communication in English

What will you work on?
Work with the Director of Engineering, Platform Infrastructure, to lead the creation and maintenance of the vision and the direction of the Data Platform.
Create and maintain the data platform strategic roadmap aligning goals and metrics with Platform strategy and KPIs.
Monitor closely the KPIs and guarantee a healthy balance between resource utilization and cost.
Manage the data platform backlog, ensuring the quality of its content, its transparency to others in the organization, and its prioritization.
Managing the inter-team operational aspects on a formal and ad-hoc basis, be available for clarification, quick decision making, escalations or reprioritization if needed.
Manage relationships with internal stakeholders of other departments to understand requirements and deepen the relationships through new tools offerings, development, and maintenance of the data platform to guarantee that they can work independently.
Empower the team to come up with ideas for backlog and product roadmap.
Monitor the progress and make sure the development priorities are set so the platform KPIs constantly improve over time.
Support and participate in the evolution of the team's agile processes.
Support the technical lead of the team in his/her own technical choices and together make sure these choices are aligned with the data platform strategy.
Make sure there's room for the team to focus on innovation and stay up to date with the best tools in the market.
Build and develop the team's health, happiness, motivation, and growth.
People management duties for the team: hiring, one2one's, personal development, performance evaluations, salary setting.

It would be great if you also have:
Engineering background within roles such as Data Engineering, BI Development, ETL Development, or Data Warehousing.
Any experience with visualizations tools such as Tableau, Looker, Google Data Studio.
Knowledge in high-scale data warehouses in the cloud such as Big Query, Redshift, Snowflake, etc.
Experience in cloud vendors such as Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure.
Experience in working with teams on different levels of maturity
Able to identify risks and suggest strategies for alleviating them
