Legal Analyst OBD- with the World as a Working Place

The section Powertrain OBD and Dependability, within Powertrain, has the mission to ensure that the development of the next generation engines reflects our brand essence of 'Designed Around You' and that all legal and costumer attributes regarding OBD and Powertrain dependability is met. This position is in the group Legal Requirements and Verification and we mainly works with legal requirements, requirement setting and verification in the last development phase. We perform OBD and emission pre-homologation for all markets and in all projects. China is a growing market and consequently we have a lot of cooperation with the China organization. Now we need to strengthen our workforce with a Legal Analyst OBD.

As Legal Analyst OBD you will work with coming legal requirements in different markets. You will perform legal studies, discuss technical solutions with the OBD department and have technical discussions with authorities. You will work in an ambitious team and have a close cooperation with the other legal analysts, calibration leaders, project managers, verification engineers and the homologation department. Therefore it is important with social skills and an ability to network. The work includes travel abroad, where you will represent Volvo in meetings with authorities. Main responsibilities

• Interpreting, analysing and communicating OBD legal requirements
• Discussing technical solutions with authorities in Sweden, US, China etc.
• Secure the documentation of the diagnostic interpretations and strategies
• Reviewing certification documentation
• Advising OBD development, verification and certification engineers
• Supporting OBD homologations worldwide

Required qualifications

• Master of Science or equivalent documented education/experience
• At least 10 years of experience from working with OBD
• Knowledge about diagnostic systems and its functions
• Knowledge in OBD legislation
• Project leading in an international environment is meritorious

• Structured and accurate with a strategic mind set
• Ability to summarize and present the status of your work
• Driven and positive
• Good interpersonal and communicational skills
• Willingness to travel
