Volvo Technology (VTEC) is an innovation company that provides expert functions and develops new technology for "hard" as well as "soft" products within the transport and vehicle industry. The primary customers are the Volvo Group and Volvo Car Corporation but also some selected suppliers. In addition, VTEC has the ability to co-operate with national and international authorities in common research programs including academia, research institutes and different companies.
The Operational Excellence Office is a corporate resource and expertise for the Volvo Group with the responsibility to develop and support implementation of the Volvo Production System (VPS) and the Volvo Operational Development process (OD). The expected result is improved quality and customer service, shortened lead times and improved efficiency and profitability in line with the expectations expressed in the Volvo Group Strategic Objectives. We utilize the strengths of each concept, and work in ways that put a sustainable system in place, with the Volvo Way as a firm foundation.
To strengthen the Lean competence in our team we are now looking for a senior Lean specialist. The role includes coaching and supporting the Volvo companies around the globe in implementation and development of their Volvo Production system, based on Lean and OD principles. You will also be involved in VPS-trainings and assessments. As we work closely with the BA/BU resources we share experiences, and ensure that the Volvo Group works in a coordinated direction with the further development of VPS.
You are highly knowledgeable in lean principles and have experience from leading the implementation of Lean in Operations. Management experience, preferably from Manufacturing or in the Quality or Just in Time areas is a merit. is Experience of Lean in a broader business context an additional strength as well as experience from OD. You hold a university degree including Lean Production.
You are convinced that lean thinking will drive business improvements, and you have a genuine interest to continuously develop the Volvo Group?s ability to establish and master its Production System. Maintaining a long-term relationship with our customers within the Volvo group is important. Thus, you should be able to work independently, taking own initiatives to accomplish goals in creative and innovative ways. You contribute in the team and you take leadership when required.
Our working arena is global so excellent communication skills and proficiency in English is needed. Other language skills are a merit. Our operations are mainly run from Gothenburg, but we are open to base positions e.g. in Asia or the US.
