We are looking for an experienced Lead UX Designer to join our Mobile UX team at Volvo Cars to be in Gothenburg or Stockholm, Sweden. .
In this role, you will focus on setting the highest standards for mobile design craft - defining key experiences for our mobile experience, shaping the platform & future value propositions for our customers and business.
Why now?
Volvo Cars is on an ambitious journey to transform future mobility through world-class cars, but also through other products and services we offer our customers to enable greater freedom to move. A huge part of this relationship will be driven by our Volvo Cars mobile app. In this transformation journey, our approach will need to be 'mobilefirst' because our customer's are already invested in precious relationships there - be it with Volvo or the rest of their lives.
At Volvo Cars, we are looking to redefine all aspects of the mobile-ecosystem including remote vehicle solutions, digital purchases and engagement, vehicle electrification, autonomous drive, future retail (just to name a few). User Experience as a discipline is a vital part of Volvo Cars' product creation group.
Your Mission
The Volvo Cars mobile app is a relationship with Volvo in our user's pockets connecting to their everyday needs and patterns. We are looking for strong UX leaders who can raise the bar and inspire us through excellence in craft.
As a Lead UX Designer on the Mobile UX team, you will work on defining emergent features, and products within our digital ecosystem. Your primary focus will be on defining and ultimately realising our future mobile app experiences including ambiguous future touch-points. Coaching designers as well as diverse stakeholders in product and engineering, you will advocate for the customer and for exceptional design. You will contribute with a high level of craft as well as insights from research in order to create a magical customer experience.
You will be involved both in project planning and guiding other designers as well as working hands-on to deliver design artefacts, such as user flows, wireframes, and prototypes that balance design aesthetics with intuitive functionality. You will develop a deep understanding of our customer needs and pain-points, serving as an expert for your product team. You will also contribute ideas for new and enhanced features.
You and Your Skills
As a Lead Designer, we believe you are a versatile, people-focused UX designer with over 10 years of relevant industry experience. You know what it takes to envision elegant, user-oriented experiences and ultimately deliver magical experiences to the customer. As a strong collaborator, you can work not only with design partners, but many other stakeholders, from marketing to engineering. You are constantly looking to hone your design instincts through user feedback, whether that's hands-on user interviews, ethnography, or a quantitative A/B test.
We are looking for someone who has:
* Experience with world class mobile or consumer facing digital experiences in relevant industries - end to end.
* Strong craft fundamentals and direct experience of user-centered design practices and a wide range of design skills-product, interaction, visual design & prototyping.
* Experience mentoring and leading other designers to push for higher standards.
* Excellence in storytelling and communication - your work makes people stop in their tracks.
* Experience working hands-on with user research, both qualitative & quantitative.
* The ability to listen and learn from diverse perspectives with humility - but ultimately drive the best work.
* A portfolio (or work samples) of relevant past projects.
