The Challenge Ahead
Supporting the launch of a AAA game as part of a major day one event is a task requiring dedication, detailed planning and a methodical approach to the needs of the business and the market as a whole. As part of the Operations Team, the Launch Director is key to driving a variety of teams to one goal - the flawless launch of a product.
The Launch Director project manages all facets of software launch, from business concept to production, identifying requirements, capturing a delivery approach, driving change control, identifying risks and constructing mitigation plans. The Launch Director manages issues and escalation, leading cross group coordination, and tracking milestones and timelines across the globe.
Core Responsibilities
• Ensures flawless global launch execution
• Identify and manage launch risks and issues, including establishing effective mitigation strategies and contingency planning
• Establish, develop, and maintain excellent working relationships with a cross group virtual team to facilitate proactive planning, smooth communication, and issue resolution.
• Motivate and inspire cross functional teams.
• Manage Timelines/Schedules for all launch partners
• Executive Summaries by discipline/region
• Status Reports and Meeting Minute Summaries
• Solves problems (not just escalate them)
• Communication Plans
• Document, communicate and administer key processes
• Run peer and higher level project and launch teams as needed, facilitating effective meetings and drive key decisions with stakeholders in order to ensure a solid delivery plan
• Articulate operational and supply chain requirements, regional and worldwide launch requirements, and discuss specific aspects with business groups, development teams and marketing teams
The Next Great DICE Launch Director Needs
We believe that the successful candidate has proven leadership skills and desire to lead. Project Management experience is a must; strong negotiation, mediation and conflict resolution skills; effective communication skills across all levels of an organization; a strong team player with proven ability to motivate and inspire a team.
We believe that you are comfortable and have experience with
• Project development with emphasis on team empowerment
• Perform and act on Retrospectives
• Risk analysis and mitigation technique
• Tools, e.g. Jira, HanSoft, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Perforce, etc.
