The International School of the Gothenburg Region (ISGR) is a prominent international school and one of 6% IB world schools offering the full International Baccalaureate continuum of learning through three programs: PYP K-5; MYP 6-10; and IB Diploma Program 11 & 12. ISGR was established in 1997 to meet the needs of the growing number of expatriate families coming to Gothenburg for work or study and requiring an International Education for their children. Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled English as an Additional Language (EAL) Teacher to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is critical in supporting our non-native English-speaking students to achieve academic excellence and integrate smoothly into our school community.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging, effective EAL instruction to students across various age groups, enhancing their English language skills in speaking, writing, reading, and listening.
Assess the language needs of EAL students and tailor individual learning plans to suit their specific requirements.
Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt the curriculum and ensure that EAL students can access the full educational content.
Provide regular feedback and reports on students' progress to parents and school administrators.
Participate in professional development opportunities and staff meetings.
Contribute to the development of the school's EAL program and share best practices with colleagues.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialization in EAL or TEFL/TESOL certification.
Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international school setting.
Demonstrated ability to design and implement effective EAL instructional strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
Commitment to the holistic development of students and to the ethos of inclusivity and respect.
