hela Sverige Boliden is a high-tech metals company with its own mines and smelters that works long-term to guarantee society's access to base and precious metals. For a century, our work has been part of the value chains that have shaped modern society. At Boliden, we know that the metals we mine and make available will continue to play a crucial role in the future - what matters is how we produce them. Become a part of us and drive change for generations to come.
Your opportunity:
Internal Control is a key group-wide function within Boliden due to the high complexity of the business from a risk and control perspective. We are now looking for a business-oriented individual with knowledge, influence, and strong communication skills to make the function world-class and an integrated part of Boliden's daily operations.
You will play a central role in designing a unified internal control system across all of Boliden's business processes, including finance, procurement, production, sales, sustainability, and IT. Furthermore, you will be a key player in the continuous development of the internal control framework, for example within sustainability and fraud prevention. You will also act as a trusted internal advisor in internal control and risk management.
Who you will work with:
In the role of Internal Control Specialist, you report to the Director of Internal Control. The position offers the possibility of hybrid work and is based at Boliden's head office in central Stockholm, with excellent access to public transportation and services.
What you will do:
The role of Internal Control Specialist is broad and also includes regular visits to Boliden's various production sites. Given the many points of contact, a key aspect of the role is your ability to build strong and long-term relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Your primary responsibilities:
Proactively identify and assess risks
Contribute to the overall risk analysis and the development of the annual internal control plan
Act as an advisor to control owners regarding the design and implementation of internal controls
Support control owners in the self-assessment of control effectiveness
Independently review compliance and relevance of internal controls
Write and present reports on observations and recommendations
Collaborate with the business to identify areas for process improvement
Strengthen ownership of risks and internal controls within the organization
Support the business during external audits
What you bring:
To thrive in the role of Internal Control Specialist at Boliden, you are motivated by leading projects and being a proactive team player. You have the ability to identify and analyze problems and solutions, and you're not afraid to drive change independently. To succeed in the role, you also have a pedagogical approach and the ability to break down complex issues into simple terms. Furthermore, you can prioritize based on business needs. You are humble in your work and enjoy working both strategically and operationally.
A university degree in finance or a related field is required. We also prefer that you have at least 3-5 years of relevant experience in internal control. Your experience may come from areas such as Risk Advisory, in-house internal control, or work in internal or external audit. Fluency in Swedish (spoken and written) and a valid driver's license (B) are also required, as the role involves travel to our production sites.
Additional qualifications that are considered a plus include knowledge and experience of best practices in internal control and governance frameworks, particularly within Swedish listed companies. Previous experience working with Dynamics365, ServiceNow, or SAP is also advantageous.
Why work with us:
At Boliden, we believe in promoting a workplace where care, courage, and responsibility are central to everything we do. We offer a workplace where we believe in collaboration and where what you contribute will have a direct impact on future generations. We are a company made up of responsible and creative people all working towards the same vision; to become the most sustainable and respected metal supplier in the world.
