Are you passionate about Engineering in an agile software development context? We are looking for a passionate Engineer that can lead the operation and development of the site connectivity area. You will join the Volvo Cars Network team, including Service Owners and Engineers for the LAN and Network Security areas as well as a Network Architect, within Platform Products of Enterprise Digital at Volvo Cars. What you'll do
As Infrastructure Engineer/Service Owner for the WAN (Wide Area Network) you will have the functional and technology responsibility for the operation and development of the site connectivity area. In addition to this the responsibility also includes external connectivity, e.g. Internet accesses and cloud connectivity links.
Volvo Cars global network today consists of some 90+ sites globally in an MPLS network delivered by Telia Company as a fully managed service. The majority of the sites have backup links, either a secondary MPLS link or an Internet based VPN backup. Most of the sites outside of Sweden also have local Internet breakout. There is also direct connectivity to cloud services like MS Azure and AWS (under implementation). Furthermore some 60+ sites are doing WAN optimization with appliances from Riverbed.
As Infrastructure Engineer for the WAN service you will work closely with the Telia service delivery team, including the Telia SM and the Telia on-site engineer. A close cooperation with the Delivery Project Manager at Telia is also part of the assignment.
You will be accountable for the WAN service within Volvo Cars in operational questions, e.g. in incident and problem management. You will also be the point of contact for all Volvo Cars sites in questions regarding performance, quality and development of the WAN.
Do you fit the profile?
We are looking for you who has at least 5-6 years of experience from working with MPLS (Multi-Protocol Label Switching) networks in a global environment as well as with Internet based communication/solutions such as hybrid WAN. You also have experience in leading outsourced services. Knowledge about new technologies, e.g. SD-WAN, cloud or premise based UCaaS, is a merit.
You are experienced at working within teams that use collaboration tools such as Azure DevOps or alike. You have a Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science or equivalent experience in relevant field to properly set, manage, and meet expectations to ensure quality of solution delivered based on user impact and stability. You are experienced with agile development practices and have worked in product teams. You are fluent in English, both verbally and written.

You are energetic, have forward thinking and you push for innovation. You are excellent at communication, presenting and capable of building and maintain good business relationships, focused on delivering results based on agreed objectives. You have a holistic viewpoint and being value oriented, with an ability to inspire and motivate others in working towards a goal. Knowledge within automotive ITIL and SAFe is meritorous.
