We currently have the following job opening;
Industrial PhD within Vehicle Integration
The Vehicle Integration unit at CEVT is responsible for the development of customer unique selling points in terms of fulfilling attribute requirements in a customer profile. Typically, different discipline like NVH, Energy consumption, Chassis, Ride and handling is continuously evaluated via virtual development tools. These tools and methods are applied in development projects in a gate structure and is the core of CEVT knowhow for fast development.
As an industrial PhD, you will be employed by the CEVT Vehicle Integration team and connected to Chalmers University of Technology, (division VEAS) as a full-time PhD student to develop core methodology for increasing CEVT knowhow in vehicle development.
The division of Vehicle Engineering and Autonomous Systems (VEAS) focuses on engineering of systems in vehicle and robotic applications. Its strength lies in building knowledge for solving authentic problems with the aim to provide innovative solutions of industrial relevance. Theory, modelling, simulations, and experimental work form cornerstones in all projects.
The focus in this project is on improving the understanding of how unsteady fluid flow simulations can be used together with a vehicle dynamics model to investigate high speed stability. The objective is to deepen the knowledge about the opportunities of large scale simulation models to influence the early-phase design process successfully. The method developed will be validated through physical testing in the wind tunnel and on road.
The first step, towards the licentiate degree, is a two-year project dedicated producing multi discipline evaluation methods involving simulation tools suitable for the task. Your work involves developing and validating a methodology to evaluate and quantify the experience of high speed stability.
Your work will involve detailed studies of aerodynamic forces interacting with vehicle dynamic response models.
You will report to the Erik Preihs, CEVT AB, as well as to your Supervisor Associate Professor, Simone Sebben, Head of Division VEAS at Chalmers University of Technology
