The International School of Helsingborg has provided a truly international education at the Primary and Secondary levels since 1995. Today, we have approximately 850 students between 2 and 19 years of age, across all programmes. We are an IB Continuum school, delivering the International Baccalaureate curriculum for all program levels. English is the primary language of learning at the school.

Our DP Swedish teacher is moving to a job closer to home after 15 years with us! As a result, we are currently seeking an ambitious Swedish teacher to join our DP team. Would you like to join us?
An IB Diploma Swedish Language and Literature teacher will possess a broad knowledge of contemporary and past Swedish and world literature from which they will select works that engage student interest in reading and speaking Swedish. The teacher will also inspire curiosity about the use and evolution of the Swedish language and the use of visual communication across traditional and digital platforms including but not limited to journalism, rhetoric, film, and social media.
The teacher must be able to encourage independent inquiry and reflection into the literature and media studied in the course and be capable of supporting the development of student learner portfolios stemming from the course content. An IB Diploma teacher must also be structured in their approach to feedback and examination revision.
The IB teacher will supervise 4000 word research essays within the field of Swedish Language and Literature.
As a colleague at ISH a teacher of Swedish Language and Literature will collaborate with the Swedish department on the development of literature and language teaching, and also with teachers in the English department who teach the same course in English. The teacher will be primarily responsible for the development of the high school's Swedish Literature course offerings, which includes preparatory courses in MYP5 Swedish Language and Literature.
Qualifications
You possess a teaching degree within languages and are qualified to teach at high school level (gymnasium). You have strong experience working within the school system.
It is a requirement for the candidate to be fluent in English, both in speaking and writing. The successful candidate will be a strong team player and have the ability to work collaboratively with co-workers as well as students and parents. You communicate proactively; support and care for others. It will be of great advantage to have experience of the IBDP and also to have previously worked within the international school system.
As a person, you are a positive, open-minded and flexible team player. You must demonstrate enthusiasm, warmth and strong interpersonal skills with children, parents, and colleagues and be committed to diversity and multicultural educational practices.
