Job descriptionHR has an important and active role in the Global Product Development (GPD) department of Volvo Buses. Attracting and retaining the right competence and talent is of strategic importance as well as contributing to culture and leadership development of the high performing organization. As a member of GPD management team, the position is directly engaged in supporting the business.The HR Director for GPD is driving a strategic People agenda through the global network of HR Professionals in our product development sites. The position reports to SVP HR and as a member of HR and GPD management teams of Volvo Buses cooperates closely with other regional and functional HR heads. The strong liaison with stakeholders in Volvo HR community in Sweden, Poland, Mexico, Canada and India is vital. Success in this position will require a sense of urgency, business connection and strong leadership capabilities to make people grow and develop HR organization. It will also require a person who is strong at building relationships on multiple levels and managing complexity of GPD organization. The HR Director will need the ability to build trust and confidence as well as skills to contribute to tactical and strategic but also operational agenda. Most important responsibilities Manage the execution of People strategyAssure the implementation of relevant HR programs within talent, competence development, employee experience and compensation & benefitsDemonstrate the ability to build best-in-class teams and exhibit strong problem-solving and organizational abilitiesMaintain a high level of communication with management and actively support business initiativesAdvise, support and challenge in HR related issues that drives business performance. Coach managers through complex employee relation situationsUtilize effective HR measures to promote positive employee relations and employee engagement in the work environment with emphasis on diversity and collaboration across units, geographies and culturesAs the ideal Candidate you will likely have minimum ten years of qualified HR experience, know engineering organizations and preferably experience from leading HR activities in global context. You have held line responsibility for an HR organization and have been part of an international management team. You are used to take active part in business decisions and have a good understanding/ability to grasp how the business operates. People are important for you, you believe that how company operates makes People to succeed.Further to this you are able to demonstrate a clear vision, global mind-set and successful people & culture leadership. You are used to work closely together with the business managers and have ability to design programs needed for your organisation. You accept that parts of the job are hands-on HR tasks as well. You have a proven track record when it comes to manage, support and develop international HR organizations in a structured way.
