The International School of Helsingborg (ISH) is a K-12 school with over 500 students from numerous European countries, North and South America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. ISH was started in 1995 to answer a growing demand for a truly international education and it is part of the school organization in the city of Helsingborg. ISH currently employs a faculty of 64 full-time and part-time teachers from 19 countries, with 2 office staff. The teachers reflect the international qualities of the school.
As well as being a public Swedish school, ISH is an IB World School authorized to teach the Diploma Programme, Middle Years Programme and Primary Years Programme. ISH is also currently a CIS candidate school. The school is located on two campuses with DP students close to the Swedish national upper secondary programmes while PYP and MYP are housed together on a nearby site.
We seek to develop the academic and social potential of our students, preparing each of them for a successful role in the global community, through a holistic curriculum which encourages international awareness and understanding.

Our Head of School is to lead and oversee the operation of the school, respecting the school's values. She/he will have overall responsibility for:
• Managing all aspects of the School in accordance with the policies and guidelines established by the Municipality, as well as the criteria set by the governing national authorities and the IB organization;
• Providing educational leadership and vision for the long-term educational benefit of the student population;
• Providing strong leadership to all constituencies of the school in order to guide it through the next development phase;
• Preparing and managing financial budgets and targets;
• Implementing business development objectives, including recruitment of students and marketing;
• Providing leadership in the quality assurance of all programs;
• Overseeing the CIS accreditation process with the CIS Chair;
• Supervising PYP and MYP principals as well as DP coordinator.
KvalifikationerQualities
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic Head of School with proven leadership, business and management skills gained in a Nordic/international educational environment. She/he will have a proven track record in a multi-cultural setting, a deep understanding of, and passion for, international education, together with high-level presentation, negotiation, speaking and intercultural skills.
Candidates are expected to demonstrate:
• Successful experience as head of a comparable national or independent school;
• Outstanding ability to develop a clear vision for the future development of the school, motivating, inspiring and challenging both staff and students, together with the knowledge and skills to implement such a vision;
• Knowledge of Swedish educational laws, curricula, and quality control is a merit
• Knowledge and experience of the IB Diploma Programme, as well as MYP and PYP;
• Strong team leadership as well as interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to enhance the collaboration and partnership between parents, students, staff, as well as the wider community;
• Experience in setting and managing budgets;
• Sensitivity towards, and familiarity with a diverse range of student learning needs;
• International orientation, cross-cultural openness, sensitivity and understanding;
• Fluency in English.
