Vattenfall Nuclear Decommissioning is dedicated to the decommissioning of the Nuclear plants within the Vattenfall portfolio. In Sweden and in Finland we write history as we are the first countries in the world to realize the final step of the lifecycle of a Nuclear plant, i.e. to decommission and to put the radioactive waste and spent fuel into final repositories. Business Unit Nuclear Decommissioning is responsible for the decommissioning of all Vattenfall's nuclear facilities and has the overall financial and commercial responsibility for decommissioning of the sites Ågesta, Ringhals 1 & 2 and for Brunsbüttel and Krümmel outside Hamburg. The main focus is to decommission the plants in the same way that they have been running during all years; safe, cost-efficient and sustainable.
We are now looking for the right person to fill the position as Head of Functional area of Health & Safety in Vattenfall Business Unit Nuclear Decommissioning. You will report to the Director of HR, with a dotted line to Head of Functional Area Health & Safety BA Generation.
Health & Safety supports our operations within BU Nuclear Decommissioning to achieve the targets of zero accidents as well as a healthy work environment.

As Head of Functional area Health & Safety you have the following key responsibilities:
• Lead, develop and implement BU Nuclear Decommissioning H&S strategies, standards and targets
• Member of the BA Generation Health and Safety leadership team and in that role jointly responsible in setting the H&S strategy of BA Generation
• Suggest H&S business targets /focus areas for BU Nuclear Decommissioning
• Support, coordinate and guide local H&S resources on our sites
• Coordinate lessons learnt through network of H&S resources in our Business unit
• Regular site visits to Krummel, Brunsbuttel, Svafo, Ågesta and Ringhals will be necessary

Your qualifications:
We are looking for a highly competent H&S Professional and leader with strong credibility built through business insight and H&S work experience. You should be able to work both in strategic but also a more tactical and operational way making sure that the impact of our H&S work is implemented thorough out our Business Unit. You have a relevant University degree in work environment (H&S) or similar and a minimum of five years relevant work experience in a similar position where you have experience from large Site operations. Your command of English is strong, both verbally and written. German language skills is a merit.

Your personal characteristics:
• You enjoy working with people at different levels in and outside the organisation (staff, management, clients, and contractors) to develop, maintain, communicate and implement the H&S agenda
• You are trustworthy as a person and also for you competences in the H&S area
• You foster good cooperation and have good communicative and interpersonal skills combined with courage and integrity
• Understanding the certification processes and requirements (ISO45001) as well as the safety culture development processes is a must
• You are performance oriented and experienced in combining work in both an international as well as a regional/local environment
