In that case, it might be you that we are seeking for as Group Manager Wet Chemistry to AkzoNobel Pulp & Performance Chemicals in Bohus!
As a part of The Wet Chemistry team we are responsible for analysis of sewage, raw materials, finished products and development products for the production, environmental control, RD&I and support for sales & marketing. We are using Titration, pH, TOC, IC, Hg-analysis and several other methods in our daily work to support the different units.
Main responsibilities
As a Group Manager you will be responsible for the management of a small chemical analysis team consisting of eight team members with output driven quality and analytical role. Your main responsibilities is to ensure that all activities within the organizaion are performed according to laws and legislation, ISO standards and AkzoNobel standads and directives.
You day to day work consists of:
• Responsible for maintaining and developing the scientific level regarding the work of the group, products and services and anchoring the quality awareness with the employees.
• Follow the HSE-legislations and HSE site rules in order to contribute to a safe workplace environment.
• Lead overall planning and coordinate and prioritize the work of the group, by coaching, appraising and develop the group members.
• Contribute to divide the department 's strategies and goals into a concrete program of action which is communicated and put into actions.
• Initiate activities, programs and secure the implementation together with the scientists. Lead, coordinate and execute projects and programs.
• Ensure that the lab's instruments are inspected and calibrated and have a program for maintenance and service where needed.
• University Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, with focus on wet chemistry and/or analytical chemistry
• 5-7 years of relevant work experience or equivalent
• Lab experience
• Fluent in Swedish and English both oral and written
To succeed as a Group Manager you need to have strong leadership qualifications. You are confident and accurate. Further you are analytical and results oriented with good communication skills and have good ability to co-operate.
