Business Area Buses Business Control team is a vital part of creating business value for the company. Global Business Controller position description
In collaboration with our Global Staff & Support functions (President Office, Global Finance, Global Marketing & Communication, Global HR, Legal) as well as several Volvo Group Functions (Financial Control & Accounting, HR Services, Real Estate), you have responsibility for planning, developing, and monitoring the Global Staff & Support budget of BA Buses. You are also supporting other parts of BA Buses organization in understanding, planning, monitoring, and optimizing their share of Global Staff & Support allocations. Together with colleagues from BA Buses finance community around the globe, you develop solutions to improve business performance. Main activities and responsibilities:
Consult with relevant members of BA Buses Executive Committee as well as speaking partners in Volvo Group functions (FCA, HRS, VGRE) to forecast operating costs and to help ensure that budget targets are met.
Propose fair principles and manage subsequent split keys to allocate Global Staff & Support costs to different parts of BA Buses organization.
Support different parts of the organization to visualize, understand and optimize their share of Global Staff & Support costs.
Prepare closing and forecast reports, analysis, and presentation material together with colleagues in the BA Buses Business Control team.
Provide expert advice regarding accounting and reporting principles in Selling & Administrative expenses. Guide colleagues through reporting changes.
Secure that Volvo financial policies and procedures are followed, providing data without errors and on time.
Anticipate future risks & opportunities and develop actions to mitigate the risks.
Ad hoc assignments, typically driven by larger initiatives with significant financial impacts.
To be successful in your new role we want you to have the following knowledge/experience:
Master of Finance or equivalent in Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or Computer Science.
Experience from business control function in a global matrix organization.
Data-driven analytical skills with proven records of developing data models in Excel as well as Business Intelligence tools.
Ability to create innovative & illustrative visualizations, communicate the results of analysis, and explain deviations to senior stakeholders in both financial and non-financial audiences.
Knowledge of SAP, Oracle Smart View/Essbase and Hyperion (or other similar planning solution) as well as Power BI (or other Business Intelligence tool).
Understanding of lean principles and structured problem-solving tools.
Fluent in both written and spoken English.
Preferably experienced in Volvo business.
Experience in developing business cases is also a merit.
