The Svartliden Gold Project is operated by Dragon Mining Sweden AB, a company 80 % owned and managed by Dragon Mining NL, an Australian public company, listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. The project is located 40 km from the town of Storuman and 70 km from the towns of Lycksele and Vilhelmina in northern Sweden. It comprises an open cut gold mine and CIP leach treatment plant that began production in March 2005 and will produce at about 2 tonnes of gold doré annually. Mine plans based on reserves indicate a further 5 years production but this is expected to increase substantially as additional resources are converted to reserves.

Summer Geologists
Job description
Dragon Mining Sweden AB is looking for geologists for the summer season, June-August 2010. These summer geologists would work for the exploration department investigating anomalies for precious metals in Västerbotten between Lycksele and Storuman. Responsibilities would include corelogging, documentation and sampling of boulders, mapping and geochemical sampling. Applicants are required to have at least 2 years of education in the geological sciences (or other relevant experience), hold a valid driver's license, be eligible to work in Sweden and have a reasonable understanding of English in speech and writing. A fair amount of trekking may be involved and an average state of physical fitness is also a requirement. Knowledge of MapInfo, Microsoft Office Suite, and a basic understanding of structural geology would be an advantage but is not required.
This is an opportunity to work for an international mining and exploration company, with operations in Sweden, Finland, Eritrea and Australia. In Sweden, Dragon Mining operates the Svartliden gold mine outside of Storuman. With metal reserves dwindling around the world, demand for geologists is only going to increase in the future and we offer an exciting and educational experience in an industry of ever-increasing importance.
Qualifications
• 2 years experience in the geological sciences or other relevant experience
• Driver's license
• Reasonable state of physical fitness
• Good understanding of English in speech and writing
