Do you have a business acumen with strong leadership capabilities and operational experience as a project leader? This role as Initiative Manager at Essity gives you the opportunity to have a central role in the development and directing of both ongoing projects and initiating new innovative projects at our Askersund site.
About 80 employees currently work at Essity's production facility in Askersund. At the site, Sorbact is produced, a wound care dressing that helps in the fight against antibiotic resistance worldwide. In this role, you will have the opportunity to influence and lead local projects as well as active involvement in global initiatives. You will have many communication channels and be a part of the global project leaders' network and fora. Our Askersund plant is on a growth journey in which your position as Initiative Manager plays a key role. You will be a part of the management team who share the same growth mindset as you. This role is a hybrid position based in Askersund and reports to the Site Manager of the Plant. Some traveling is also included in the role.
About the role
In this role as Initiative Manager, you ensure a reliable implementation and planning of projects at the site and are the role model for project execution and operational integration. You will have responsibility for managing the site project portfolio and give regular report on the progress to the management team. Site project portfolio may include, innovation projects and product/material changes, regulatory changes, investment projects on equipment/equipment optimization as well as organizational projects etc.
As Initiative Manager you create short and long-term action plans through close collaboration with GMI (Marketing and R&D), sourcing organization and other relevant departments in order to constantly evaluate business input and needs. You will be the single point of contact and representative for all site initiatives and external functions, ensuring the information flow in and out of the site. Further, you will have close contact with the Global PS Medical Initiatives Director to enable implementation of standards and gain an Essity wide perspective on the Business Unit initiatives.
Drive the process for activities, such as value creation activities or quality improvements
Build and execute site structure, follow up and reporting regarding all initiatives and project activities
Regularly update the site organization on innovations and changes
Responsible for creating and implementing innovation for a site designed to result in significant savings or in increasing sale
Own material changes to drive cost savings and market support activities
Actively contribute to relevant portfolio meetings to set priorities and allocate resources and responsibilities
Support preparation of budget/forecast for Material Rationalization
Lead, coach, and train own direct reports as well as other departments about processes, practices, and initiative execution

Who you are
You are a driven and ambitious person with strong leadership capabilities who has a natural business acumen and process-oriented understanding of project leadership. To be successful in this role, you need to have a positive and pragmatic can-do attitude, embracing driving change and dealing with complexity in order to collaborate and execute projects effectively. You are structured and methodological in your project management with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and initiatives.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in project management in a relevant field (i.e. Supply chain is a plus)
Stakeholder management experience (i.e. site managers, cross functional global directors, VPs)
Excellent written and spoken fluency in English and Swedish
