What do we do?
At the Energy and Storage System, ESS, section we 're responsible for the complete battery solution. At our section, we are accountable for the lifecycle management of the ESS, from advanced engineering, throughout product development into the maintenance phase. In the Electrics & Electronics team we 're looking for a highly experienced Engineer that can take team lead for our EDS and Wiring team. The EDS & Wiring team is part of our agile set up where we build on team members strengths and complement each other to become a successful team and have fun at work.
What will you do?
At Electromobility you will have all the advantages from Volvo Group being a large international company, but in combination with all benefits from a tech startup. In this position you will be part of the team that handles requirement brake down, design and validation of Busbars, Connectors and Wiring that are a resource for all our ESS projects. Since we do development in a collaborative way you will need to manage contacts with and deliveries from suppliers in order to ensure we get the quality products that our customers expect. You together with the team will be working on the component level and of course align with other teams in Volvo that also specialize in this component area. You will also be part of enabling the interface to System-level within both ESS, Electromobility and Volvo AB.
Who are you?
To succeed in the role as Busbars & Wiring Engineer we believe that you have the following background:
MSc. Engineering.
Several years in similar positions.
Extensive experience from automotive wiring design and dimensioning in collaboration with Automotive suppliers.
A very good understanding of designing wiring and cabling in higher voltage applications and also the challenges with EMC associated with them.
Deep knowledge in tools for Harness design and CREO.
Documented experience in Automotive, a plus is of course experience from Electromobility area at other manufacturers.
An already established network for handling questions like Wiring, Busbars, connector, EMC, electrical system dimensioning, and others within Volvo AB is a big plus.
As a person you are a team player and a problem solver, you drive for results and have no problem in dividing problems into deliverables that can be grasped by you or your team mates. You are quick to pick up technical details, structured and have a good sense for planning your individual work. If a team member needs help you freely offer your support and is no stranger to coaching others. You are curious and probably like to tinker with technology.
