hela Sverige Role: Director of Advanced Technologies
We are looking for an exceptionally innovative engineering leader to join the Northvolt R&D organization. By joining us, you will help invent the next generation of materials and process technologies required for our next generation of products that have an unprecedented scale of impact.
In this role you will:
Focus on developing the next generation of high performance and cost-effective solutions to enable Northvolt's technology leadership and superior sustainability goals.
Focus on identifying, prioritizing and developing (up to TRL4) early-stage technologies that are eventually integrated in the product portfolio of the company.
Lead a team built around Material Scientists, Analytical and Organic Chemists, Physicists, and Process innovator.
Enrich the group with technical leadership and address specific challenges issued by the Product Development organization as well as invent new emerging technologies.
Build strong Collaborations with early-stage companies and selected Academic centers of excellence.
The main areas of focus of the team are: Advanced Materials, Advanced Processes
Key Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Collaborate x-functionally with Cell Design, Materials Development and Data Engineering teams
The definition and enablement of the Northvolt technology roadmap in Material Science and Advanced Manufacturing Processes (time horizon 2-5 years)
Frame and conclude Academic partnerships to leverage external research for Northvolt's benefit
Scout for technology startups in the fields of Materials or Process development

Required Qualifications:
Advanced Degree in Engineering (EE/ChemE/MechE), Materials Science, Chemistry or Physics.
At least 5 years of leadership and managerial experience, building research and engineering organizations across the manufacturing and/or fabrication industry.
At least 10 years of Industrial Experience in a relevant industry.
Willing to relocate to Våsteräs/ Sweden
