The department Electrical Propulsion System (EPS) is responsible for development of all major parts of hybrid and electric vehicle systems as well as sub systems such as batteries, electric drives, power supplies and chargers. Diagnose Analyse & Verification, Fault Tracing, is a group within the department and we are responsible for diagnose analysis and verification of all EPS's test objects. We also troubleshoot all test object at Volvo Car Group for our service centres globally.
As Diagnose Analyse & Verification Engineer you will focus on OBD diagnostic and dependability. You will lead the diagnostic and dependability verification work for Electric Drive, HV-battery, DC/DC and OBD both at Volvo Car Group and with our suppliers. You need to read and understand the ECU specifications, make test methods from the specifications and later do the actual testing in HIL and car environment.
Main responsibilities
• Requirement engineering, based on functional and sub-system requirements to deliver OBD and functional safety and dependability concepts
• Cooperation with the Electric Drives, OBC, DC/DC and HV-battery team, diagnostic and System Safety Engineers (SSE's) at EPS and at other departments
• Utilise Elektra and Autosar structured workflow and tool chain
• Deliver test results in a structured way for the certification documentation
• Analyse diagnostic and other control system data from Volvo Car Group's Diagnostic Read Out from prototypes and field and other data logger systems
• Use the analysis result to give proposals on how to improve design and calibration data
• Develop robust calibration data and rationale for diagnostic functions, fault reactions and diagnostic core
• Apply Functional Safety workflow and deliverables according to Volvo Car Group's adaptation of ISO26262
• Continuously develop working process and procedures
Required qualifications
• University degree within Control and Software Engineering or equivalent competence
• Relevant job experience relative to diagnostics and Functional Safety and Dependability development
• Knowledge of CANalyzer, DSA, INCA and multimeter / scope meters, Inca
• Knowledge of CAN, LIN,and Flexray
• Driver's license B
• Vehicle knowledge on a complete vehicle level
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
• Previous work as Diagnose Engineer or similar is an advantage
• Knowledge of the SAE and ISO standards (SAE J1979 with test spec J1699-3 and ISO 14229) is meritorious
