In the Propulsion SW factory, we work daily with automating our SW development, integration and testing for the larger Software Development community. Our main job is to increase the speed of the Software development inside Volvo so that new technical solutions can reach the market even faster than yesterday.

At the Propulsion SW Factory we are responsible for the complete Toolchain and CI environment within the Propulsion domain. We are a small team with a lot of freedom, working both with developing new ideas on how to make the flow more efficient and maintaining a growing flora of systems. We are part of Electrics & Electronics of Powertrain Engineering. We are located in Sweden Gothenburg but we have connections with sites across the world.
There are over 500 developers using our tool and flow and this is growing. Some of the challenges we have ahead is to see how we can use smart algorithms or AI to analyze and/or perform tasks automatic in our integration process. Increase our software build efficiency with new tools or IT solutions. Expand our collection on data in our integration flow and utilize this to provide the organizations with key metrics on their performance or their products performance.
Main Activities
Develop and maintain Jenkins/Bitbucket based SW Factory
Develop and maintain SW Integration pipeline including building SW, running unit tests and Matlab simulations, running HW tests
Develop scripts using Python or Bash for the CI/CD pipeline
Lead initiatives & improvement work in SW Factory area
Who are you?
We are looking for you who are interested in Continuous Integration and Automation. Who thinks you never should do a task manually more than once. You like improvements and are perhaps developing your own scripts on the side to make your daily life easier. You are helpful to others and like sharing ideas and solutions.. You also like to work with different things and easily learn new systems and solutions.
Requirements, experiences needed
Knowledge in programming Python and scripting in Bash or similar
Previous experience in Volvo or Automotive domain is beneficial but not mandatory
Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written
The job requires both autonomy and ability to work in a team
Being open-minded and pro-active, structured and a drive to take the lead is an advantage
