www.fingerprints.comFPC seeks a Development Engineer - Semiconductor Packaging to help us in developing future fingerprint systems for smartphones and other mobile devices. The sensor design is a mixed-mode design in a standard CMOS process. FPC is a global leader in the development of capacitive fingerprint sensors and designs the entire system, from advanced custom silicon devices and microelectronic packaging, to the algorithms and software for fingerprint including the recognition, and applications on the target devices.
The Role
As a development engineer within the packaging team, you will take part or even drive several development activities forward with a common target to continuously improve and perfect our microelectronic packing platform.
You will participate in all different development phases; concept studies, product development or pure technology projects. You will also be involved in supporting the process development and adapt new products or packaging platforms for volume production.
The majority of the work is done together with large contact manufactures in Asia and hence you need to feel comfortable with traveling and visiting them on a regular basis.
You will have the opportunity to affect the outcome of the final product by your own ideas. You are enthusiastic and driven, with a commitment to see your ideas through to successful implementation as a part of a collaborative cross-functional team.
The work location will be preferred in Malmö as agreed between FPC and the candidate.
International travel to FPC suppliers, partners, and customers may occur.
Your Background
This role requires a Master of Science in Engineering, with specialization in electronics. You have several years of occupational experience of similar fields to apply for this position. Preference will be given to you if you have several years of experience in the actual field but we are also welcome applications from more junior candidates.
You can communicate fluently in English, written and spoken, and have the possibility to travel if necessary.
Success in this role requires:
• Understand electronic and system designs and be able to implement that when reviewing substrate drawings and package pinouts.
• Perform electrical sensor designs with good testability at package level and Module level.
• Experience in tools for electrical design and documentation.
• Experience in semiconductor Packaging is considered a merit.
You also have essential qualities such as being ambitious, motivated and flexible. You need to be comfortable working in a growing company, where you will be expected to assume considerable personal responsibility for your own activities and the company's success. This also requires you to be a team player who contributes to an open and positive atmosphere in the workplace.
