Body structure is a section within Paint, Body and Closures, as part of Vehicle Hardware unite in Volvo Car Group. We are passionate in developing technology that enables our company to fulfil its aggressive targets, to be the leading character of automotive industry in areas of Safety, Vehicle Dynamics and Design. We are developing body structures components from concept until approved project launch in advanced engineering projects as well as in new cars. The team develops engineering solutions that fulfils attribute properties such as Design, Crash, NVH and Strength/Durability while fulfilling manufacturing process demands within set cost and time frames.
We are now looking for a Design engineer with high ambition in the area of body design to develop future technologies and new solutions with sheet metal. It is important that you are passionate in developing premium car bodies, interested to work in international environment together with internal and global suppliers. You and the team are responsible to deliver documentation to secure legal and Volvo Cars requirements are fulfilled. You will have to build and maintain a network with expertise across the company to secure correct status in the many aspects of a car environment.
We are offering you an exciting challenge, where you will work in all phases of product development and be able to develop complete vehicle knowledge. Main responsibilities
* Catia V5 sheet metal engineering
* Cross-functional work with CAE, whole Research and development department and Manufacturing, to agree of required progress
* Ensure that the technical documentation (3D Model, TCE, 3DPMI) is available at the right level and at the right time to the programs
* Support concept and project leaders in evaluation of solutions quality assurance and balancing of conflicting requirements
* Initiate and support system development
Required qualifications
* MSc or BSc in Mechanical engineering or other equivalent education
* Knowledge of Catia V5 and FEM analysis
* Throughout product development knowledge and project management experience
* Engineering experience in Sheet metal design are beneficial
* Experience with or genuine interest in automotive technology
* Fluency in English, spoken and written
* Driver's license "B"
