With more than 30.000 purchases every day and 10.000 e-stores connected to our services, it becomes increasingly important to effectively manage and analyze large amounts of data. Klarna?s Business Intelligence team helps the organization to monitor and analyze the operation at Klarna in an efficient manner in order to explore new business opportunities.
We are looking for a Database developer to join our team in Stockholm.
You will take part in establishing Klarna?s business intelligence platform. You will be responsible for the database modeling and database administration in our Business Intelligence team. You act as the connection between the data and the business and it is important that you have a great understanding and interest for the users and the value of what you are creating. Understanding Klarna?s business model will be necessary in order to do a great job.
The code base is currently in C# but since you will have full ownership of the code you should feel free to re-implement the code if needed. Data is mainly collected from our ERP Klarna Online and you are responsible for making this data available and adapting it to fit Klarna?s analytical reports. The reports are then used by the Board, the Management and analysts trough out the company in order to make the right decisions for Klarna?s future.
Your responsibility will also be to administer the postgresql database and it is important that you understand performance issues and how to tune / configure databases based on the needs of the users.
You have a university degree in business and/or IT. You have at least 2-3 years work experience from software engineering on medium to large codebases. You also have good knowledge of database design and you are familiar with Postgresql and Linux. It is a big plus if you have worked with business intelligence solutions before. It is also a plus if you have experience in functional programming (such as Erlang, Haskell, OCaml and Scala).
You speak and write English fluently. Knowledge in Swedish is not required but good to have.
You have a strong analytical ability and you are always striving to develop and acquire new skills. Working hard is something you like and you are always prepared to go the extra mile. You take great pride in your results and you always finish what you have started.
