Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Overall responsibility for online and offline databases.
Ensure database content and access controls are according to security standards.
Provide database support out of office hours.
Specify database requirements for product development projects.
Install, plan, administer and maintain databases. This includes but are not limited to:
o Capacity management
o Database design support
o Replication setup & monitoring
o Instance tuning
o Disaster Recovery planning of databases
o Monitoring database performance and availability
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

Deploy database scripts and assist Application Specialist during deployments
Create customer reports
Generate statistics from the databases
Supervisory Relationships
The database administrators reports to the Manager of IT Operations

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required to perform a satisfactory job.
Education/Experience Requirements
At least 5 years working experience from IT industry
Experience of IBM's DB2 databases
Knowledge of other databases such as Oracle and MSSQL is a merit
Working experience of *nix environment.
Technical Skills
Shell scripting
Expert knowledge in SQL
Experience of disaster recovery and high availability systems.
Language Skills (choose a descriptor)
Verbal and written English is required
Verbal and written Swedish are preferred
Other language skills such as Spanish, Portuguese, German or French etc is a merit
