About VOI
VOI has a vision about cities where people can move freely without noise and pollution. Cities that are built for living - not for cars. By creating a system of electrically powered scooters around urban centers, in partnership with local communities, VOI is thriving to reduce the use of heavy traffic in the inner cities of Europe. VOI provides an affordable, sustainable and exhilarating way to commute. By helping people to reduce their carbon footprint and cities to have a more sustainable transportation network, VOI has come a great way in accomplishing their goal.
In just seven months, the Swedish company has grown from nothing, to becoming one of Europe's hottest companies among the investors. In November, the startup was given $50 million in fresh funding, and is now embarking on a quest for international growth. Today, the electric scooters are available in countries such as Sweden, Spain, Portugal, France and most recently Copenhagen. During the first, and second quarters of 2019, VOI will come to expand in some other European countries.
Since its launch in June last year, VOI has grown explosively, and currently consists of approximately 80 employees. To ensure the continued success, and thrill of enterprise, VOI is now looking for a CTO to their HQ in Stockholm. About the role
As the CTO you will play an important role in helping VOI achieve its full potential by leveraging the power of technology. You will have an overall responsibility for technology and architecture, as well as take ownership of challenges related to scalability, among other things.
VOI is seeking for an exceptional leader to set strategies for technology that help bring the company to the forefront of the e-scooter sharing experience. Since VOI is a startup, we expect you to be able to tackle things hands-on as well as leading your growing team, bridging into a managerial role. You will work with a fast-growing team and be responsible for scaling up the organization in the long run. Today, the IT department consists of 20 talented people, and is expected to grow rapidly before the end of the year. By coaching and supporting the team members through processes guidance in order to create structure within the IT organization, you will promote productivity and efficiency at a growing rate.
As the CTO you will have staff, budget and delivery responsibility while working as a key member of the management board. You will act as a bridge between IT and business and report directly to the CEO.
About you
You have at least a couple of years of experience from leading and building a technology organization in roles as CTO, Tech Lead, Team Lead or Engineering Manager, in a fast paced environment. You have a solid technical background, and an ability to guide and coach others in technical decisions. Experience of working with consumer products is highly meritorious. Preferably, you have been involved in a tech organisation's major advancement, e.g. taking a product from the start-up to scale-up phase, or launching a local product in multiple countries.
Working with a system that grows in a fast-paced environment requires a leader who are familiar with upscaling organizations and products in the long term. You have a proven record of leading teams efficiently and effectively. You are a business and goal-oriented leader who dares to challenge the management team. You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and highly energized environment, and enjoy creating order in chaotic situations.
