Sandvik Materials Technology (SMT) is a world-leading developer and manufacturer of products in advanced stainless steels and special alloys for the most demanding environments, as well as products and systems for industrial heating. SMT consists of three product areas: Tube, Primary Products, and Strip, Wire and Heating Technology.
At Tube R&D within SMT, we work with product development of stainless steel, nickel alloys as well as titanium and zirconium alloys to strengthen our market position and meet increasing demands. We are driving successful launches of new products, applications and materials. At the High Temperature and Special Metals unit, within Tube R&D, we are now looking for a talented engineer with a genuine interest in product development with focus on high temperature applications.
Job Summary
As an R&D Engineer, you will develop our products by identifying and solving technical problems connected to material and manufacturing, as well as by conducting materials studies using our well-equipped laboratories, reviewing and documenting the results in technical reports and presentations.
You will also lead or participate in product development projects and support the organization in responding to customers' questions about our products and their usage. Additionally, you will work with idea generation to generate new products and patents and represent SMT in external technical contexts, such as meetings with customers and at conferences.
Your profile
We are looking for both newly graduated and experienced engineers with a Master's in Engineering, preferably in materials science or chemical engineering, with knowledge of and interest in materials, their properties and test methods. Previous experience working with product development is advantageous. Good communication skills in English, in both speaking and writing, are prerequisite for the position, and knowledge of Swedish is desirable.
