Consular Regional Operations Manager, the Nordic Baltic Network
Consular Directorate is part of The Foreign and Commonwealth Office and employs over 2,000 people delivering the UK's consular services worldwide. Our vision is of a global consular operation focused on our customers, delivering support to British nationals abroad to the highest possible standards of quality, consistency, professionalism and efficiency. Based within the Nordic Baltic Region, the successful candidate will manage our consular operations in the eight Nordic Baltic Network Posts (British Embassies in Stockholm, Oslo, Helsinki, Copenhagen, Reykjavik, Tallinn, Vilnius and Riga), which employ approximately 15 staff.
Main Purpose of the Job
• To lead and manage consular sections within our oversees missions in all Nordic Baltic counties, to ensure they deliver a high quality service to British nationals in normal times and in crisis
• To interpret and implement consular policy
• To support and guide teams on a day to day basis
• To ensure value for money for all consular resources
• To lead teams through ongoing change programmes
• To assist and support the Consular Regional Director for Northern Europe
Qualities Required
Essential:
• Experience of leading and managing a service delivery team
• Initiative and drive to lead teams through change
• Excellent English
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness and ability to travel to all Posts in the network at least twice a year
• Flexibility, patience and the ability to handle difficult situations, including the ability to travel at short notice and work unsociable hours in an emergency or crisis
Desirable:
• Experience of working and managing teams remotely
• Previous experience dealing directly with members of the public
• Previous consular experience
• Good IT skills and experience of using ICT to improve operations
Terms and Conditions
This is a new locally engaged position which will be based within the British Embassy Stockholm; it is not a diplomatic designated position.

The salary is expected to be around the entry point of the LE1 salary scale of 35,800 SEK per month (gross)
