Component Leader - Centerstack electronics

At RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT you will be a key contributor to the next generation outstanding luxury cars from Volvo. Together with other engineers over the world, you and your team will create innovative human-centric car technology that makes life less complicated and more enjoyable for people. As COMPONENT LEADER within the group Centerstack electronics you will manage a product development assignment for a specific component / subsystem towards its goals. You will be responsible for the assignment from PTCC (program Target Compatibility Checkpoint) up until FSR (Final Status Report). The group is part of the Product Creation Process technical task structure and the activity includes R & D, purchasing, manufacturing, design and marketing, sales and customer service. Your technical competence, as well as your ability to manage projects, should be strong so that you can make your own decisions and technical conclusions. Your mindset should be visionary and with an aim of finding solutions.

Job profile:

• Manage the given assignment through a cross functional team and secure that all results and deliveries are in accordance to the contract
• Initiate steps to enable the line managers to man the assignments with necessary competences
• Initiate and assure decisions, both in project and the line organization, when deviations occur
• Develop, monitor and update relevant time plans for the current task
• Anchor task decisions, implementation and status with responsible line manager
• Communicate the project targets, commitments, status and forecasts both internally and externally through the assignment

Your profile:

• Very good analytical ability and strong in documentation
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Developed project management and team leadership skills
• Ability to independently plan, manage and monitor your work against the overall objectives
• Structured in following up, summarize and present the status of your work
• Good knowledge of English (spoken and written)
• Design experience
• Very good practical and theoretical knowledge within the product area and the impact on complete vehicle
• MSc or equivalent relevant work experience
