About the Role as Business Controller
As a Business Controller at Mentice, you will be part of an international finance team of 12 members based in both Gothenburg and Chicago, reporting directly to the CFO. You will enter a dynamic phase within the company, enjoying a varied workday focused on providing business insights that enhance understanding of various aspects of our operations.
Your primary role will involve creating insights into the business by analyzing key areas, allowing you to support regional managers and the sales team in understanding the implications of business decisions. You will work closely with the CFO to interpret the consequences of these decisions, ensuring that insights are actionable and relevant.
You will be responsible for developing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), conducting ad hoc analyses as needed, and assisting in budgeting and forecasting activities. Methodically, you will review sales, trends, and costs, providing the necessary insights to lay a solid foundation for informed business decisions. Additionally, you will ensure the quality of monthly reporting and support your colleagues in gaining a deeper understanding of the business landscape. Mentice utilizes Salesforce, Business Central, Power BI, and Excel.
Your Main Responsibilities:
• Contribute business understanding to all departments at Mentice and create insights into the business and its various components.
• Support regional managers and the sales team in comprehending the business landscape and the implications of their decisions.
• Review sales, trends, and costs to facilitate well-informed business decisions.
• Ensure quality and analyze monthly reporting.
• Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Conduct analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Perform ad hoc analyses as needed by the business.
About you
We are looking for someone with a post-secondary education in economics. You have at least a few years of experience as a Business Controller, during which you have developed a solid understanding of business. You have previously worked in an international environment, handling different currencies, and you are eager to focus on analysis and strategy. To succeed in this role, you need a comprehensive understanding of business and its financial flows, along with at least a basic knowledge of accounting under IFRS and K3 standards. You have actively participated in optimization and change management projects.
Additionally, you possess strong skills in Excel, are an experienced system user, and are confident in analysis, forecasting, and budgeting. Fluency in English is required as it is the corporate language at Mentice. Experience working in a publicly traded company and/or proficiency in Salesforce, Business Central, and Power BI would be advantageous.

Important for the position:
• At least 2-3 years of work experience as a Business Controller.
• Strong business understanding of financial flows and accounting according to IFRS and K3.
• Experience in finance within an international environment and handling various currencies.
• Experience in analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
• Experience in change management and efficiency improvement processes.
• Good system proficiency and excellent skills in Excel.
• Fluent in English.
Preferred qualifications for the position:
• Experience in the finance function of a publicly listed company.
• Experience with Salesforce, Business Central, and Power BI.
