Casino Host
The Casino Host position exists for the purpose of identifying preferred players, enrolling them into Casino Royale (our player program) is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with guests that encouraging them to sail again with Royal Caribbean International, thereby increasing gaming revenue as a result of his/her actions and abilities. The Casino Host is ultimately responsible for improving the gaming experience with the intent to create loyalty for both individual players and casino groups and is the player's first point of contact.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
• Serves as host to guests in the casino. Greets guests, extends courtesy and provides helpful information. Recognizes the value of extraordinary customer service. Explains and clarifies house rules to guests requesting information.
• Employees in this position should have keen Casino floor observation skills, maintain a high level of visibility on the casino floor and be able to make decisions based on quality customer service & technical skills.
• Individual must be conversant with all gaming rules & operational procedures, including tournament details. Must be available to host tournaments for private groups.
• The host responds to guests complaints in a considerate, professional and positive manner in which displays concerns for their complaints.
• Maintains current knowledge of all shipboard events and special functions by reviewing all available information.
• Provides services for casino players by arranging VIP services, shore excursions, early debarkations, early tender tickets etc.
• Works with Casino Cashiers to manage players credit lines and to further attain onboard credit, where needed.
• The host attends meetings, training activities, courses and all other work related activities as dictated and/or by the Casino Manager.
• Ability to work with Business Objects to generate reports for casino use and shore-side data.
• Must be comfortable with making public announcements within the casino and during onboard events or while hosting a group.
• Performs related duties as required. This position description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the shipboard employee occupying this position. Shipboard employees will be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor or management.
Hiring Requirements:
• Minimum 3 years Casino experience.
• Proven exceptional customer service skills to interact with guests in a considerate, professional and positive manner by showing concern and actively listening.
• Ability to communicate tactfully with guests, department heads and shipboardemployees to resolve problems and negotiate resolutions.
• Ability to operate basic office equipment, including telephones, computers and copy machines. Must be willing to learn and use Business Objects for report reviewing.
• Ability to perform mental arithmetic calculations quickly involving monetary units and calculating odds and percentages.
• Ability to make decisions based on sound judgment regarding gaming rules and regulations.
Language Requirements:
• Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with guests.
• Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures.
• Ability to speak additional languages such as Spanish, French or German preferred.
