The ART (Agile Release train) Deceleration&Steering, part of the Solution Vehicle Platform within the unit Engineering&Operations at Volvo Car Group, is now looking for a committed and collaborative colleague. The ART Deceleration&Steering is responsible for the delivery of the complete Brake and Steering system including components like caliper, brake modulation, steering gear etc.
You will be a part of the Brake HW team.
We work in close cooperation with our suppliers and internal customers. We work with several different car projects in parallel and we deliver to new car projects and to current running production.
What's in it for you?
Working as a CAE- Engineer you will have the possibility to influence our future brake system. Together with your teammates you will be responsible for securing the quality of your components as well as legal regulations. There is a network of other CAE - engineers in other teams that will support you and where you will challenge each other in everything from personal development to ways of working.
You will also be responsible for raising the CAE/Method development competence in the team and be a driver and an ambassador for this way of working.
What you'll do
You will work with realization of a safety system for next generation of highly automated electrical vehicles and be the CAE system designer to ensure and verify the functions and attributes needed. You will be the main contributor for the development of virtual tools to secure the concepts for future braking systems and explore and define new methodologies to fasten the development loops improving the system verification.
You will be working in a cross functional team with agile processes and tools and you will lead collaboration with other teams, external partners (Universities, industrial consortiums) and suppliers. The team is responsible for the implementation and quality assurance of brake system.
Do you fit the profile?
• We believe that you have a master's degree in mechanical, automotive engineering or controls and systems and you are passionate about cars and chassis systems.
• You have the competence and learning ability when it comes to develop virtual analysis tools for system engineering and the forward thinking to understand future needs and draw conclusions from simulation and real-world data analysis.
• Ideally you have between 4 -5 years of experience in vehicle dynamics, XiL tools and development of one of the chassis systems for passenger cars.
• As a person you are positive with a high motivation level and a never give-up attitude.
• You have a strong sense of urgency and flexibility with prioritization.
• Knowledge of additional CAE tools like multibody or structural simulations.
• Academic experience through a PhD or a research assignment.
• AMESim/Dymola, ADAMS, Abaqus, Star CCM+ or equivalent.
