We are now looking for two talented persons to manage part of our supply base for Aftermarket for a set portfolio of sub-commodities and suppliers. You will collaborate with key stakeholders (internally and externally) in order to meet customer expectations while supporting various operational and strategic objectives. A strong focus is on availability and cost in a true cross-functional and multi-cultural environment. A great opportunity to create an interesting network within the Volvo Group!
What will you do?
You will be responsible for a defined Purchasing portfolio supporting the aftermarket business with a strong focus on the Europe. However, since several of the suppliers are supplying globally your responsibility will on case-by-case basis also cover our global needs.
Manage and develop the supplier base for the given portfolio
Collaborate with Purchasing (Aftermarket and Production) colleagues in other regions and in the other Volvo business areas
Have a close collaboration with the Global and Regional Commodity Teams for the assigned Commodity areas.
Support and implement sourcing strategies and agreements for Aftermarket for given segments in close collaboration with other functions
Drive Delivery, Cost and Quality targets on sub commodity level with a strong focus on;
Parts availability
TCO (Total Cost of Ownership)
Sustainability and Life Cycle management
Own supply continuity and problem solving (risk and crisis mitigation) for the portfolio in close cooperation with the SML (Service Market Logistics) organization and our Global Parts Engineering team.
Support the continued development of Remanufacturing solutions and the strategic projects managed by the Sales regions for given commodities as needed.
Who are you?
We don't know yet! We imagine that you are well organized and can work autonomously. Since you will be managing multiple internal and external contacts in a multicultural environment you need to have good collaboration and communication skills. As we are a global company you need to be fluent in English, both verbally and in writing. We expect that you are target oriented and really enjoy working with continuous improvement. Creating ideas, contribute to problem solving and seeing them into actions, having a bit of entrepreneurial spirit and an understanding of the business is very valuable in the role as a buyer. Off course you have the ability to represent Volvo professionally and effectively in negotiations with external parties.
Key competences for the roles:
Technology and Manufacturing: Good understanding of related supplier manufacturing processes and technical documentation (mainly drawings) preferably with proven experience from manufacturing and/or engineering, with a strong commercial interest.
Good understanding of the Supply Chain process from supplier to end customer. Experience from Purchasing is awarded.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical or business-related concentration with 3+ years of demonstrated pertinent experience
Action-oriented and good communication skills. Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Collaboration & Organizational agility: Ability to be open-minded, share knowledge and support. Encourage collaboration, gain support and solve problem with peers and stakeholders
Knowledge in SAP and Microsoft office applications is awarded
Occasional domestic and international travel required.
