What we're looking for:
As a Business Designer you make a significant impact by helping generate and assessing services and innovations by thinking creatively about financial consequences, risks, data and customer evidence. You will systematically explore the viability of new concepts to forecast and simulate the effect of new offers and business models; understand the size of markets and opportunities; and help inspire and build confidence in the strategic direction of cases.
You are driven by exploring new ways to capture value. With this as your focus, you'll work within our multi-disciplinary product teams. Your toolbox should include the ability to collect, analyse and develop insights, and explore and define growth opportunities.
You inspire people through business and entrepreneurial thinking and use start-up approaches to value creation.
Responsibilities and duties:
• Use discovery-driven planning and financial modelling to explore the business model possibilities behind design concepts.
• Working with wider teams in business modelling, customer research & validation and customer acquisition.
• Help design and commercialise profitable new products, solutions, services, or customer experiences.
• Use of a diverse set of methods & tools that illustrate all the components and touch-points of the service.
In addition we expect you to:
• Challenge and manage stakeholders on the journey of taking new business quickly to market.
• Inspire teams to deliver their best work.
• Be capable of coaching other designers and team members about business design and inspiring the community with an entrepreneurial spirit.
• Be a design thinker: open-minded, curious, exploratory, iterative and optimistic with a pulse on emerging trends and technology.
• Be agile and able to move between being scrappy & working fast to detail-oriented and go deep, navigating the ambiguity of designing for complex problems.
Ideally, you'll have:
• +3 years of experience taking an idea into the product-market fit stage in a corporation or have equivalent work in the start-up world including both contributing to and managing teams.
• An MBA or a Bachelor's degree in business is helpful but not a requirement.
• Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work within a co-operative culture and navigate ambiguity.
• Strong background running qualitative & quantitative research and analysing data.
• Solid knowledge from Lean Startup, Venture design, entrepreneurial, or industry.
