About Kognic
Founded in 2018 by Oscar Petersson and Daniel Langkilde, two engineering physicists working in the field of Deep Learning, Kognic is taking on one of the most challenging areas in mobility - the quest to make automated / autonomous driving systems more accurate and safer. Today, we help machines reliably make sense of a messy, chaotic, and unstructured world. Our data platform enables OEMs to get to market faster with less risk - and data engineers simply love working with our Machine Learning Operations tools.

Our future goes far beyond automated driving. Perception is a vital technology in understanding the world around us and our expertise in machine learning is poised to positively impact other markets, such as Robotics, Manufacturing and Heavy Industry just to name a few. We know it's not something we can solve overnight. We have to make extraordinary leaps in technology happen.

The role
We are now looking for a business controller to our Finance team, as we are currently bringing our financial function in-house. The team's mission is to support the company's growth from a start-up to a large corporation. As our new business controller you will be responsible to drive and improve our internal ability to budget, forecast, analyze outcome, present financial information to relevant stakeholders. Right now we are revising our internal processes and IT systems, as a part of ensuring Kognic's ability to grow at a fast pace. This will be a part of the assigned tasks for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Analysis: Conduct comprehensive financial analyses to identify trends, variances between actual and budgeted results, opportunities, and risks, providing actionable insights that drive informed decision-making.

Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with various departments to develop accurate budgets and forecasts, monitoring performance against financial targets and initiating corrective actions as needed.

Financial Reporting: Prepare and present timely and accurate financial statements, reports, and presentations for executive management, stakeholders, and regulatory compliance.

Continuous Improvement and Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business operations and to contribute to the enhancement of financial processes, tools, and systems to streamline operations and enhance data accuracy.

Who are you?
We believe that you have at least a couple of years of experience as a business controller or in a similar role, and are able to work independently, since you will be the only controller on site. You have a problem-solving mindset, as well as an analytical point of view where you are able to provide innovative solutions. Since we're still a relatively small company it is important that you have proven ability to work in cross-functional teams and collaborate with colleagues outside of the financial team. As a part of this it is also important that you have excellent communication skills and are used to presenting complex financial information for non-financial stakeholders in a structured and clear way. You thrive in a dynamic environment where you contribute to add structure rather than rely on established routines.

We believe that you:

• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field

• Have established experience of working independently as business controller

• Are fluent in both Swedish and English, both written and verbal

If you have a Master's degree or other relevant certification, experience of working in a scale-up with 100-500 employees, worked with other countries (e.g Germany, or USA) or have previously improved financial processes, it is a big plus!

What is in it for you?
Other than working with very talented and humble people in a fun and creative environment we also have a lot of other great benefits!

• Strong values and purpose-driven company

• Workplace flexibility and an employer that prioritize work-life balance

• Parental pay, salary exchange, great health benefits, order your own workstation, place your own pension - to name a few

Application
We recommend that you submit your application as soon as possible since we will be reviewing the applications regularly & reaching out to you. We would like you to send in your resume and answer a couple of short questions, a cover letter is voluntary.

If you have any questions regarding the position, please contact our Talent Acquisition Consultant, Anna Sellhed at anna.sellhed@kognic.com.
