The Finance Team
As part of the Operations function, the Finance team is responsible for the accounting, internal and external financial reporting, business performance and supporting the organization in financial related questions. We are now looking for a full-time Business Controller with around two years of experience to join our Finance team of 3 who work with both our Swedish and US entities. You will be reporting to the Head of Finance.
What you'll get to do
As a Business Controller at Detectify you will be a central point in our organization. You will get to work in a multinational team of experienced colleagues across all functions. You will be the objective voice that proactively looks out for the best interests of the company as a whole and you always take a multi-dimensional view in your work. You will support the organization in focusing on the right initiatives and understanding our current performance.
In this role you will work on various projects in all stages, from finding the potential for improvement, improving processes and data collection, to evaluation and presentation of outcomes. Your main responsibilities include:
Extract, clean, manipulate and visualize data to find and understand patterns
Set up relevant spreadsheet models and tools to help track business performance in an efficient way
Prepare and continuously develop the material for both board meetings and investors
Set up, review and support with budget follow-up to other stakeholders in the company
Simulate financial scenarios, build financial forecasts and evaluate accuracy in predictions
Perform cross company PL analysis
Proactively identify relevant questions, investigate, and present your insights and recommendations to stakeholders
Analyze problems and find their root cause through data
Help stakeholders become more data-driven and achieve their targets
Translate business needs into data requirements to our tech teams
Perform system analysis, review processes and ensure data quality
Identify cost reduction opportunities
Review existing and implement new tools
Communicate results in a clear and effective way
As Detectify grows your role will also evolve and contribute significantly to the journey we are on.
Who you are
You have a genuine interest in delving into the world of Internet Security and Security Research. You are a spreadsheet wizard (i.e. Excel or Google Sheets) and have exceptional problem-solving skills and a desire to work in a fast-paced, multinational, start-up environment. You are passionate about learning new things and improving your understanding of all aspects of the business. You also thrive in an international setting and you are a pragmatic team player who possesses a strong business acumen and likes to work cross-functionally. You are driven, committed and like to get things done.
We also believe that you have:
2+ years of experience in a similar role
Experience in transforming data analysis into concrete business actions
An academic degree in Business Administration, Engineering or other analytical field
Ability and willingness to learn and adapt to a changing environment
Fluent in English both verbally and in writing
Experience with data visualization, experience with modern tools like Looker, Tableau, PowerBI etc is a plus
Knowledge of SQL is a plus
Experience of working at a startup, technology company, and/or with a SaaS product and cloud tooling is a plus

This position is for the Stockholm Office. We're flexible when it comes to working from home or at the office, but would prefer if you are able to pop into the office every now and then. For tax reasons we need you to be located in Sweden.
