We are currently looking for a Backend Engineer - Ruby on Rails. Some of us fish, some of us love the outdoors, all of us are united in building the best fishing experience. Would you like to be a part of taking the world's no. 1 fishing app to the next level?

What you will be working on
Collaborating as a member of a cross-functional team to define, design, and ship new features that scales
Work together to identify and address technical debt, code inefficiencies and performance bottlenecks to continuously improve our application, with the user's experience and user business value in mind.
Collaborate with platform engineers to deploy, monitor and maintain production environments, ensuring high availability and reliability of our applications.
Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
Act as a technical advocate in production discussion to represent our engineering capabilities and contribute to our overall technical strategy.
Drive the architectural design and implementation of efficient, reusable backend systems and APIs that power our web and mobile applications.
What we are fishing for:
You have strong software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, design patterns, and complexity analysis.
You have extensive professional experience creating applications in Ruby on Rails.
You've got experience with databases, networking and running distributed software in a cloud environment.
You're smart, get stuff done, have great energy, and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
Extra nice to have:
Experience with designing GraphQL APIs
Experience with infrastructure such as ElasticSearch (especially Ruby plugin SearchKick), AWS, Docker or Terraform.
Experience with designing for performance in systems at scale and under heavy load.
The Harbor (Fishbrain's HQ)
Our office is based in Stockholm (Södermalm) and we have a hybrid-remote work arrangement. We prioritize in-person collaboration, which means we operate from our offices at least two days per week.
