We have a new opportunity for an Associate Director role within Early Clinical Development. You will be a member of the Study Operations Leadership team, contributing to business management and strategies. You will also be responsible for the line management of clinical study co-ordinators in Early Clinical Development.
Early Clinical Development is the place where AstraZeneca science meets the patient. We work across the drug development phases from discovery to the late phase development organisation. It is our responsibility to take molecules into the clinic and make sure that we've identified the right patient, receiving the right dose, of the right drug, with the right safety in an area of major unmet need. We drive innovation in clinical trial designs and harness data to inform decisions and accelerate human target validation.
In addition to directly managing a team of around 12, you will take a global mindset and an appetite for change and improvement to the role. Using your extensive drug development experience and to manage and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams in the UK, US and other countries
Responsibilities:
In addition to the above, you will be responsible for the following in the Clinical Study operations Group;
* Working with line managers of other operational staff to ensure skill development and career progression, drive efficiencies and innovation across the operational skill group.
* As member of Study Operations Leadership team, drive strategy and business performance across Study Operations.
* Resource management and efficient deployment to clinical studies/programmes
* Development and maintenance of processes owned by the group.
* Driving productivity improvements and innovation within the group
* Oversight of quality and compliance of the group
* Recruitment and retention of staff
Essential Requirements
* University degree in related discipline, preferably in medical or biological science, or discipline associated with Clinical Research.
* Significant line management experience
* Significant experience of experience in operational support in early clinical development
* Experience of working with and delivering through strategic partners and 3rd party vendors
* A clear demonstration of behaviours of truth seeking rather than success seeking, agile responsiveness to scientific data, embracing of peer review and agnostic to internal-external sourcing.
Desirable:
* Experience of working in more than one company or country
