Chalmers University of Technology strives for academic excellence while addressing the challenges and needs of society and industry. We offer a creative and dynamic environment for research, education, innovation and applied science. We are now inviting applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor.

At Chalmers, talented researchers are given the opportunity to grow into academic leaders. We aim to become a globally leading university of technology, driven by high-quality research and education, openness and collegiality. As an Assistant Professor, you will contribute to this ambition by developing your research and taking part in education in an international and supportive academic environment.

The position is intended for early-career researchers who seek independence and qualification for a permanent faculty role as Associate Professor. It includes start-up funding, including resources for one doctoral student, providing a strong basis for establishing your research direction and future research group.

About the role
Be part of an excellent research and teaching organization at a renowned European institution! Chalmers University of Technology recruits a teacher/researcher within the field of electronics design, in particular CMOS circuit design. The position offers a large international network in an industrially-relevant field, and possibilities for close cooperation with established groups in telecommunication, remote sensing, optoelectronics, quantum technology, and high-performance computing.

About the division and department
With more than 30 faculty members, more than 100 PhD students, and more than 300 employees, the Department of Microtechnology and Nanoscience also includes one of the largest cleanrooms in European academia. The Microwave Electronics Laboratory within the Department offers excellent lab and IT infrastructure as well as regular fabrication opportunities in advanced semiconductor processes. Close cooperation with Swedish and European industry ensures that our research stays relevant and that our graduates are attractive in the job market.

Your responsibilities
You will be responsible for developing the Chalmers research portfolio in CMOS analog and mixed-signal design, and thus broaden and strengthen our expertise in the design of electronic systems. You will also develop and teach courses in electronics design at the bachelor and master levels, and take part in the further evolution of the excellent and multi-faceted research and teaching environment at the department.

Key duties include:

• Conducting research resulting in publications in international journals and conferences.
• Supervising doctoral students, including the doctoral student funded through this position.
• Applying for external research funding and building collaborations.
• Teaching at all levels (in the order of 20-25%) and contributing to Chalmers' goals for sustainability, utilization, and academic citizenship.

Qualifications and merits
You hold a doctoral degree in electronics design or another relevant field, with high-profile international publications, obtained within seven years before the application deadline. Of particular interest is the design and evaluation of high-speed mixed-signal circuitry in modern CMOS processes. Exceptions to the seven-year eligibility limit may be made for documented circumstances such as parental leave or military service.

You have demonstrated independent, high-quality research and potential to build a competitive research program. You also show interest in teaching and educational development. In particular, we will value:

• Experience in attracting or applying for research funding.
• Ability to build national and international networks.
• Pedagogical interest and potential.
• Commitment to sustainable development and academic citizenship.

Proficiency in written and spoken English is required. Chalmers offers Swedish language courses.

Employment and career path
This is a full-time tenure-track position, lasting for a minimum of four and a maximum of six years in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. You will strengthen your research and teaching qualifications through practice and professional development, including pedagogical training.

Successful completion of the tenure track leads to promotion to Associate Professor and a permanent position.
