Axis is now looking for an ASIC System Engineer to join our Chip Platform team within the Research & Development department.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
As an ASIC System engineer you will work in a team that is responsible for the selection of ASIC and IP partners. You will be involved in the specification of chip architectures and technologies. The work will also include responsibilities such as the evaluation and configuration of IPs such as DDR, PCIe etc.
The work also requires close cooperation with both ASIC designers and software engineers, as well as planning your own work and others. There will be some traveling and close collaboration with partners.
We are a well-established team and in most cases we are able to adapt the work tasks to personal interests.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced engineer who wants to make difference. Suitable fields of education would be Electrical or Computer Science, Physics or similar.
Skills seen as a merit:
Programming and scripting skills
Understanding of ASIC architecture
Good at modelling and understand complex systems
Good understanding of embedded systems and hardware/software interaction
ASIC test
ASIC manufacturing
SystemC/TLM
RTL design, Verilog and/or VHDL
Synthesis, floorplanning and timing verification
Power reduction methodologies and tools
ASIC verification

CHIP PLATFORM TEAM
We are responsible for ASIC and FPGA design and contact with external ASIC partners and IP providers. Large and critical IPs for our applications are developed in-house. The more general parts of a SoC are developed in cooperation with external partners. We perform evaluation and are responsible for the selection of ASIC technologies, platform partners and IPs.
We have a long history of designing ASICs, with our first ASIC being developed in the late 80s. We have developed a highly sophisticated ASIC development environment, which is in many ways leading edge in the world. We file patents and publish papers, and get invitations to present them at EDA conferences.
We are in the forefront of technology nodes and stretching performance and power requirements in our designs.
