Our Exciting Opportunity
Product Development Unit Radio (PDU Radio) drives the end-to-end research and development of Ericsson's radio products and solutions. We are a global organization, within Development Unit Networks (DNEW), of approximately 3,000 engineers and developers collaborating across nine sites in Canada, China and Sweden to drive Ericsson's strategy of securing our ongoing market leadership in radio, taking a leadership position in 5G.
About Radio Systems & Technology
Radio Systems & Technology drives radio product and technology evolution, high level systemization, architecture definition, standardization, mid- and long-term development plans, and long-term product plans (products and features) for PDU Radio.
This role will be responsible to report to the Radio Technology Evolution Program (RTEP). This is a global program that works with early phase activities to develop new technologies for next generation Radios. Connecting the strategies for PDU Radio with the development plans, what new technologies do we need, when in time, and for what purpose? Identify the gaps and close them by addressing the right studies towards the different product and technology areas, to be able to release the right products in time to the market.
The position is based in Kista and may require travel to other PDU Radio sites in Sweden, China and Canada.
You will
As a Technical project manager be involved deeply in Ericsson's next generation ASIC, for key radio product areas including:
Work with Remote radio (standalone antenna), AAS Midband and AAS Highband (integrated antennas), and indoor radio equipment.
Have deep understanding in the following technical areas: Digital Radio Hardware, RIS - Radio Integrated Solutions, Mixed-Signal and Algorithms
Create and maintain the anatomy for the early phase projects related with Next generations ASICs (with support from TA Leaders)
Create, influence and maintain the Priority list of the projects together with Radio integrated Solutions (RIS) and Digital Radio Hardware
Work closely in collaboration with Radio on Chip program in order to have maximal synergy for ASIC development, and to push for new technologies
Work globally with technical leaders
Have presentation skills on all management levels
To be successful in the role you must have
Strong product development background with focus on ASIC and SOC with in wireless communications
Good understanding of wireless building blocks from baseband to antenna
Significant experience leading development teams, with strong relevant domain knowledge to have the needed credibility with our teams, partners, and suppliers
Leadership Requirements
Significant experience as a leader of complex technical organizations
Ability and interest to lead with empathy and humanness to empower, develop, and encourage teams and individuals
Driving - Ability to get things done and work through others to achieve results. Motivated to surpass expectations
Capable of taking fact-based timely decisions without letting prestige get in the way
