Are you our new Art Director?
We're on the lookout for passionate doers, idea makers and creative thinkers - people who want to find answers to the everyday problems in people's lives and communicate them in inspiring ways.
This assignment is all about bringing together creativity, storytelling, and technology to create outstanding communication that consistently engages our target audiences and helps IKEA achieve its business goals while building on our strong brand identity.
It's about sparking interest in home furnishing, building a strong brand position, and increasing visitation.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop and research the assignment while working closely in a creative team that includes other competences like creative directors, copywriters, interior designers, graphic designers, photographers, 3D artists, and others.
Within your assignment you will also:
Create stories and communication concepts according to IKEA positioning and communication strategies, tone of voice, smart production methods and up-to-date consumer insights.
Explore possibilities/limitations to reach relevant target audiences in all media and platforms (web, social media, motion, printed publications, store, exhibition & events etc.)
Utilize your creative problem-solving abilities in all aspects of our work.
Execute communication ideas together with the rest of the creative team and oversee production and delivery.
Pitch your concepts to a wide range of stakeholders with diverse backgrounds.
Develop and maintain good relationships and excellent collaboration with all team members and stakeholders.
You excel at turning strategies into creative concepts. Collaborating at all levels of an organization, you confidently present and pitch your ideas while working closely with internal partners. Your listening skills are top-notch, and you're always open to exploring new approaches. No assignment is too big or too small for you to tackle. As a strategic thinker, you're self-motivated, adaptable, bold, and passionate about communication and collaboration. You fearlessly bring innovative ideas to the table, constantly asking "what if?". You understand the importance of a strong and consistent brand experience. You prioritize deadlines but are always ready to lend a helping hand.
Your curiosity knows no bounds, and you're passionate about understanding people's lives at home and have an interest in home furnishing. You're driven by growth, learning, and sharing knowledge. Being constantly in tune with the latest design, retail, and digital trends, you have a deep interest in consumer behavior and the ever-changing social and cultural landscape.
We also believe you have 5+ years of relevant experience - education and/or working experience in art direction, visual communication or equivalent, in an international setting. Experience in successfully leading a creative team from concept development to delivery, across a multitude of media. Shown in personal portfolio. Ability to embrace and develop a strong brand identity and experience in working with a diverse range of media and channels, including digital platforms, integrated campaigns, and social media.
You have up-to-date knowledge of today's multi-channel landscape, market and industry and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and manage your own workload. It is mandatory that you have good knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite and are fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Then we wish you to have:
Experience in creating concepts for motion media and working on both large and small motion media productions is highly valued.
Prior experience in a large retail company is a plus.
