hela Sverige Vattenfall BA Wind is now looking to recruit a wind analyst to carry out wind resource assessments and energy production estimations for onshore and offshore projects. This includes wind data gathering, data analysis, layout configuration taking into account constraints and limitations and site appraisal for both onshore and offshore. Other tasks include supporting the project through all phases, including measurements, planning applications, procurement and post production evaluations.
Main responsibilities & Work Tasks
We are looking for a person with a high level of technical knowledge and interest in in the field of Wind Resource Assessment, to provide technical support to the Nordic regions? business development and generation departments. You will define the appropriate measurement campaign in every site in order to ensure the reliability of the production estimation at every tollgate. You will also analyse the available data, in order to understand the climate conditions at every site and estimate the long term, and compile all information regarding constrains to develop the optimal layout. The position will include visits to the sites to identify real constraints and verify the proposed layouts.
The main Responsibilities
• Support development of new wind farm sites in all stages
• Analyse of wind data and carry out production assessment including loss and uncertainty
• Produce layouts taking all constraints of the specific site into consideration, in order to define the optimal lay-out of WTGs.
• Provide input for planning application and carry out noise and shadow flicker calculations for projects in development
• Ensure measurements are conducted to the required standard Investigate the wind conditions and actual production at current wind farm sites (lessons learn)
• Evaluation of consulting services (when necessary).
• Provide input in procurement of wind turbines
Qualifications
• You must have a University degree in engineering/physics.
• Understanding the wind cycle and the industry
• Minimal 3 years of working experience in the wind resource area
• Thorough wind flow modelling and technical knowledge
• Understanding of making field measurements and putting up relevant measurement equipment on site for onshore and offshore purposes
• Interest in renewable energy and climate
• Strong analytical skills and very comfortable with IT.

You are a goal and result oriented person, attentive to details, but capable of comprehensive thinking. You are a person with a high level of energy, motivation and initiative. You possess good interpersonal skills, and you have the capability to communicate clearly to other specialists and professionals who are not from a technology background. You are skilled in using computer aided design and/or engineering tools/principles. You must be very articulate in English speech and writing, and be flexible and willing to travel.
