Job Description
We are presently in search of a Warehouse Category Manager to lead strategic initiatives within our warehouse categories. This role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with central and regional stakeholders, optimize costs, mitigate risks, and drive value across our global logistics network.
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement Warehouse Category strategies for major spend, risk and strategic areas (e.g., 3PL, Lease, MHE) in collaboration with central & regional stakeholders.
• Together with Transport & Trade Commercial, define, refine, and maintain central and regional logistics guidelines, routines, tools, templates, and processes for procurement, contracting and vendor management.
• Lead the work to ensure and support in adherence to standards and guidelines across procurement, contract, and vendor management for Warehouse related vendors globally.
• Ensure close collaboration with Logistics regions and involvement in contract & vendor management for major contracts and business partners within the warehouse categories.
• Analyze spend patterns and trends within the categories to identify areas for cost optimization and assess risks associated with the category and develop risk mitigation strategies.
• Define the commercial approach, including procurement, contracting, supplier relationship management and performance management approach etc. for the categories.
• Develop and maintain the governance model and approval process for the spend categories based on defined thresholds.
• Analyze market dynamics and trends within the categories globally and identify potential new suppliers and market disruptors that can provide competitive advantages or improve value in collaboration with regions.
• Define Facility Management strategy and standards for new and existing warehouse, both own and leased.
• Stay updated on operational status, KPI's, issues and risks, and adjust category strategies accordingly.
• Identify improvement opportunities around sustainability (environmental & social) and internal control related areas.
Qualifications
• Strategic mindset and proven experience in procurement, Contract and Vendor Management for Logistics related services and processes
• Strong understanding of business requirements towards vendors as well as compliance, and sustainability standards and performance criteria
• Good ability to collaborate, interact and navigate with central, regional, and local teams and stakeholders, both internally and externally, with all levels of seniority
• Strong analytical and financial knowledge, consistently focusing on driving customer value and improving profitability to generate business value.
• Fundamental knowledge of legal contracting needs
