www.du.se/ktp.The "Internet of Things" (IoT) is ever expanding. More space is needed so that the different frequency bands do not become overloaded. This is where you and 5G come in! In collaboration with Wireless P2P Technologies AB (WP2P), we want you with the support of research to work to build our company. You will do this by developing technology and software related to cognitive radio and 5G, using different types of machine-learning (ML) and artificial intelligence AI.
Wireless P2P Technologies, WP2P
WP2P is a unique company that works with research in the development of its own wireless solutions for mission critical communications in 5G. Our field is intelligent wireless technology that interconnects a world where boundaries do not exist: for example, autonomous self-driving vehicles, drones and robots. Our main product is a compact software defined radio (SDR) based system that connects with advanced self-developed program software that allows for customised solutions. Currently, we have clients throughout Europe, including Sweden, and the USA. Read more about WP2P here:
https://wp2p.org/The Workday of a KTP Project Leader
We are currently looking to recruit a project leader who can develop and assure the competitiveness of WP2P. To be able to expand both nationally in Sweden and internationally, we need resources and broad competence within the field of cognitive radio systems, ML, wireless communication and 5G. As our successful candidate, you will be working with research and implementation of different ML algorithms.
Your duties will include working with simulation and screening of algorithms so as to be able to ensure and present the best way forward. This you will do together with the knowledgeable engineers and researchers we already have. You will also be involved in national and international collaboration opportunities.
What is Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, KTP?
KTP is a collaborative model, the aim of which is concrete development that results from new knowledge and skills. Working together with businesses, Dalarna University creates developmental projects that allow for the exchange of knowledge and skills between it as an organisation and businesses. These developmental projects will be headed by you in your role as KTP Project Leader, and you will work with coaches from both the University and businesses.
As KTP Project Leader, you will be able to develop your position and determine your own daily work duties and research questions. You will be responsible for both the planning and carrying out of work assignments as required.
You will be responsible for the progress of the project with support from both the business world and the University. The further purpose of a KTP project is that you are able to develop your ability to transfer achieved academic skills and knowledge to future research or other professional work contexts.
KTP offers you immediate access into a business at a strategic level, where you will work to identify needs and where you will put your theoretical knowledge into practice.
Will you be the successful candidate?
You are a recent graduate (or are close to completion of your programme) from a programme that is at least at the Master's degree level. You may be a civil engineer in electrical engineering/electronics, computer engineering or physics. You need to have knowledge and skills related to wireless communication, principles and algorithms, communication technology and machine learning and programming.
You need to be able to communicate well in English in both written and spoken form: knowledge of Swedish would be useful but is not a determining factor for this position.
It would benefit your application if you
• have experience with FPGA
• hold a PhD or a licentiate degree
• have experience from similar work situations
To be successful in this role, you need to be able to work well with others. You are driven by goals and results, and you have the ability to push your processes forward. As well, you will have the skills and knowledge required for you to be able to work independently, achieve a high level of academic quality, and contribute to the development of knowledge within the field.
About the Position
This is a temporary position with an estimated end date of December 31, 2021. It is full-time. The start date is as soon as possible upon agreement. You will be employed at Dalarna University: however, you will work at WP2P in Falun. There is great potential for you to secure permanent employment at WP2P upon completion of the project.
We value the benefits to our organisation that come with diversity at the workplace. Further, we implement a competency-based methodology throughout the recruitment process. For this position, the University will select a candidate that, upon a qualitative overall evaluation, is viewed to be best suited for the position and therefore to have the best likelihood of being successful in the role.
Knowledge Transfer Partnerships
KTP is run as a form of collaboration between the University of Gävle and Dalarna University. It receives financing from the European Union, Region Gävleborg, Region Dalarna, and companies. With their total 1 500 teachers/researchers and over 30 000 students, the universities form a strategic resource in terms of regional development.
