At this moment we have four successful senior high schools and three junior high schools in the Stockholm area and next year we are opening a new F-9 school, also located in the Stockholm area. We have just ended our 25th school year since the start of our first high school in Djursholm.
Are you who we are looking for?
The Director of Innovation and Technology has responsibility for all aspects of ICT including but not limited to Strategy and Planning, Staff Management, Budgetary Responsibility, Infrastructure, Database Administration and Integration. The Director of Technology and Innovation is a creative and dynamic leader charged with developing and implementing a strategic vision in all areas of technology. Both a big picture thinker and a hands-on implementer. The Director of Technology and Innovation must be a strategic thinker with strong communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills, and the enthusiasm and credibility to create and sustain instructional momentum in the appropriate use of technology in learning and teaching.
The Director of Innovation and Technology will work directly under the Director of Schools and be a key player in the future of the Stiftelse and envisioning goals and visions of The Board of Trustees, and the Director of Schools.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategy and Planning
• Through a collaborative process, plan, develop, direct, coordinate, and maintain a comprehensive IT short and long term plan for infrastructure, architecture, telecommunications, and instructional and administrative programming.
• Develop and present proposals for the spending of VR Schools' operating, capital, and budgets for technology with a focus on cost-saving and maximizing resources. This also involves seeking additional funding via stipends.
• Convert program and IT system requirements into written plans and create visual diagrams to illustrate IT system designs and architecture.
• Lead Innovation processes (ie design thinking) to brainstorm further development at the school level.
Reporting
• Compile and prepare accurate statistical reports, studies, project plans, business correspondence, procedure manuals and presentations for all IT and information systems related topics.
• Maintain all quality assessment data.
• Maintain salary mapping system.
• Maintain and provide statistical information as requested by the Director of Schools and/or Board of Trustees.
• Routinely contribute to staff newsletter and organization blog.
Leadership
• Participate as a member of Leadership providing oversight and management of all aspects related to IT and pedagogical development of the organization.
• Serve as principal advisor in developing and recommending sound IT management plans and practices to school leaders.
• Expand the IT capabilities of the management team to support efficient and timely access to information through a user-friendly school system data warehouse.
• Provide support for technology and personalized learning initiatives throughout the organization.
• Supervise and evaluate all technology staff.
Management
• Drive process improvement together with our local school leaders
• Direct the daily operation of assigned teams and units to ensure efficient operations.
• Maximize financial resources when managing IT hardware and software assets, which includes cost life cycles, budget projections, short term and long term goals and asset capabilities.
• Monitor operational functions including IT purchases, systems implementation, information security, technical support, hardware repair, application deployment, etc.
• Maintain adequate network security measures
• Ensure that the organization remains in compliance with the demands of GDPR.
• Develop and maintain IT access for all users with us.
Relationships
• Manage outside relationships with vendors, outsourcing contractors, and community partners.
• Maintain close working relationships with IT officials from other government agencies, as well as other school districts and stakeholders to gather and propose recommendations for system improvements.
• Interact with students, parents, teachers, staff, management team etc.

• Utilize modern office hardware and software to effectively communicate and complete work tasks
Education:
• Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) from an accredited college or university with an emphasis on business administration, engineering, computer science, public or educational administration, educational science or a closely related field
• A degree from a University outside of Sweden is a merit.
Experience:
• Previous senior positions within innovation and technology and/or education
• Demonstrated pedagogical skills
• Experience with network (LAN/WAN, Intranet, Internet) maintenance/troubleshooting, analysis, management, and support
• Experience managing complex systems, servers, networks, websites, and/or databases
• Considerable experience in the development and administration of management analysis, budget, planning, and IT management in diverse organizations of comparable size.
• Demonstrated contract and vendor management and entrepreneurial activities
• Demonstrated experience in supervision and program oversight including developing, supporting, and evaluating staff
